I was very touched by the service! The staff packed me a lunch when they found out I needed to check out early, it was extremely sweet of them. Other than that, the hotel is really nice. My room was spotlessly clean and very warm. The location is super convenient. If I ever visit Krems again (I hope I will), I’ll definitely stay there.

I even sat in the beautiful breakfast room trying to spot anything made of plastic, just out of curiosity, and found nothing. Everything is thoughtfully chosen, beautifully maintained, and deeply authentic. Breakfast was a highlight—local flavors, homemade delicacies, and served in what feels like a fairytale chapel. The whole experience radiates care and intention. If you’re looking for a place that’s serene, inspiring, and truly sustainable, look no further. I can’t recommend it enough. Just wow.

We went to Wachau for a cycling trip and some rest. The location is excellent for exploring the Danube cycle route. Mautern is only 3 km from the apartment. The staff was very friendly, and our late arrival was no problem at all. The same owner also runs a very nice hotel and restaurant just a few steps away. On our last day, we could even use the sanitary facilities in their camping area, which we really appreciated. The hotel restaurant is very good, with a terrace and a beautiful view of the monastery. The apartment was clean and fully equipped. Having breakfast on the terrace was amazing. Parking next to the apartment was also free.
