We are a family of 4 with two kids over 10 years old, stayed at the hotel to have a 2 nights break on the way home. We wanted to try something new and came through hotel Schloss Thanneg. Based on the pictures and the reviews on google and trip advisor, we knew that it is a place worth to try, After staying in so many overrated, dirty (4 and 5 star) hotels this summer, we just hoped that we found a nice, relaxing and clean place. The hotel is a refurbished castle and everything was made to preserve its original features. The rooms are nice and cosy, the bedding and the towels are clean white. Real white, not the overly used half-grey ones that you wonder how many people used it and if it was washed properly. The beds were comfi and we could actually open the windows to let some air in. Breakfast was very nice and very good quality! The hotel has a nice cellar where you can stay and relax with a drink on a self-service basis. There is also a nice spa area with sauna and relaxation room. Despite we had a very cold and rainy weather, we went out to discover the nearby towns and went up to the mountains too. We had a very nice stay and would like to thank to the Lady of the Castle (Frau Schrempf) to made our stay so nice and welcomed!

This hotel is amazing. It was our 3rd stay, and we already have the next reservation. Perfect location whether its summer time for hikes, or skiing in the winter. YOu can litterarly ski in to the hotel. Great food quality and variety, also perfect options for kids. We loved the suite we had, views to the Dachstein and also the deers on the hill side, you just dont want to leave from here. Great sauna options, and the kids loved the kids club. Nice evening music entertainment. And the wooden yoga house!!! I could live in there :). Amazing views around.

Perfect location for nature lovers. Awesome views guaranteed: panorama of mountains and villages down there. We stayed only for one night, but even then we managed to use the advice the owner gave us to visit the old wooden church built on the rock (20 minutes walk from the place). Rooms are comfortable. There is a restaurant, so you can order lunch/dinner, not only breakfast which was quite tasty by the way. In the morning you can meet cows, goats and sheep walking freely around the hotel. The entrance to the steep road to the hotel is normally paid, but you will get the card during your stay, so it will be free for you.

Amazing place with so many things to do right onsite for pre or post-skiing time. Billiards, a pool, ping pong, a bowling alley! We loved it. Just 15 minutes to the less-crowded Hauser Kaibling mountain of Schladming. Breakfast was very good with fresh bread each morning! Great places nearby such as Haeuserl im Wald with their own curling rink.

This is one of the best places we’ve ever stayed! Everything was great- kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms even the location, although it’s on the main road between villages, but we liked it.
