Lovely peaceful, historic town in vine growing area.
Lovely peaceful, historic town in vine growing area. Good public transport facilities, great place for visiting other nearby towns/villages, right by the river Danube. Great for cycling, walking , river trips, wine tasting. Lots of cafes and restaurants . My only complaint as a person who suffers from coeliac disease is the only shop, The Spar , did not sell any gluten free bread that you could eat off the shelf, you had to toast or bake it. This made things more limiting than they already were for us.

EVERYTHING!
LOCATION: The appartment with stunning views of the mountains was well situated about a 20 minute walk from Spitz right next door to an excellent wine Hauringer where you could drink exceptional wine and eat good local food.
COMFORT: You had everything you needed for a very comfortable stay including the ability to park your car in a large double garage (with remote door) right under the appartment.
HOSTS: Andrea and Karl were great hosts who are very friendly and were only a phone call away to answer any queries.

It was a lovely stay; the city of Spitz far surpassed my expectations. The property was exactly how I would have liked my days in the Wachau Valley to be: a small, friendly place with local aesthetics and presence and apricot gardens. I would stay in Spitz any day rather than in Krems or Melk. The Wine terrace above the city is such a hidden gem. Well connected to Melk, Dürnstein, or Krems, within a 15-20 min driving distance. The Danube is a 2-minute walk away, as is the ferry boarding point. Would love to visit again.

My friend and I had a fantastic stay here. It's a beautiful place, run by a family with their own vineyards around the hotel. No expense spared with the facilities, decor and communal areas - everything very high spec, beautiful details and helpful staff. The wellness centre was so relaxing, a sauna, heat therapy seats and a warmed pool. A perfect spot to chill for a while, and served us well travelling between Vienna and Salzberg. 100% would recommend and we would definitely stay here again.

We were staying in Apt 1 and got clear guidance how to reach to the place, is really hidden gem for people looking some nature and quiet stay.
House is adorable and has everything, newly and warm equipped, kitchen has everything you need if you want to cook, coffee machine. Even though really warm days it is cool inside and fresh.
Walking distance to shops, restaurants and heuriger.
We had really wonderful stay and long weekend that want us to be back to Spitz again.
