We have only stayed in Albury a few nights years ago for a wedding and then I night while travelling elsewhere, but it seems a lovely place to stay longer - we did go to see the war memorial on the hill which is pretty spectacular at night. Plan to stay longer next time.

Albury is a friendly, tidy town without metered parking and has a huge range of cafes, restaurants and retail outlets of all types. The station and airport are other assets that could be utilised on a holiday as they are very close to the city centre.

Albury is a lovely place with a lot of history.
Albury is a lovely place with a lot of history. This stay, we visited the Star Hotel - a modest hotel not far away, and were thrilled with the meal we had, and the price we paid. A Family place, very popular and seemed to have people of all ages, including babies, eating there for tea. We'd go there again too....

there are heaps of motels to choose from and generally speaking they are all quite good. Some of them also offer free continental breakfast. Albury is a wonderful freshen up stop between Sydney and Melbourne. Also Albury offers a wide variety of takeaways and cafes and bars.

Albury is a beautiful clean and well ordered town.
Albury is a beautiful clean and well ordered town. Fabulous heritage buildings everywhere. Good gallery/museum precinct, lots of places to eat (I recommend Norma) good coffee and the beautiful Murray. Highly recommend a visit to Bonegilla Migrant Centre a short drive away and a visit to the Hume Dam. Will return to this friendly, clean town.

Never judge a book by its cover. It may look old from the street, and although the rooms are a through back to the 70's, the beds are big, rooms are spotless, quiet location yet close to the town centre with quite a few eating establishments, and in the other direction, a great pub, for a meal. Plus there is a continental breakfast included. If ever in Albury again, this is where we'll stay.
Walking distance to the botanical gardens, and a nice brewery.
Very funky looking property! We stayed in the 2 bedroom family apartment which was just behind the main hotel itself. It was spacious and neat and tidy with a little backyard for the kids to kick the ball. Plenty of room for parking. The restaurant/bar area was very modern and a popular spot to be. Just off the freeway and only a short walk into Albury central so pretty good location.
A night stop off after a long drive, we weren’t expecting much but we were pleasantly surprised by everything. Lovely hotel manager, a great room with what felt like very recently renovated bathroom, peaceful surroundings and great pool.. very easy to wander down to the golf club for dinner which had a great menu. We’ve booked to stay again so we can enjoy ourselves.
For a short stay in Albury, this was a great hotel. The rooms were comfortable and clean. There was also a great amount of parking space available. The hotel restaurant was very good for breakfast.
