A town full of history.

A town full of history. We enjoyed a stroll through the gardens, the talking tram, the Chinese museum and a stroll around the antique and collectable shops. The old buildings are beautiful and remind us of the history surrounding the township.

History lovers will enjoy exploring Bendigo's rich gold rush...

History lovers will enjoy exploring Bendigo's rich gold rush heritage, including the Central Deborah Gold Mine, Golden Dragon Museum, vintage talking trams and the city's magnificent historic architecture. The arts scene is equally impressive, with major exhibitions, theatre, ballet, symphony performances, live music, comedy and a vibrant calendar of events throughout the year. The city also has an excellent selection of cafés and restaurants, local wineries nearby, beautiful parks and gardens, and easy day trips to places such as Echuca's historic port, Kyabram Fauna Park and the Heathcote wine region. We were lucky enough to experience the electric light exhibition, which was absolutely magical and well worth seeing. Bendigo strikes a wonderful balance between a welcoming country town and a vibrant regional city. It's easy to get around, offers plenty to see and do over a long weekend, and leaves you wanting to come back again.

For some strange reason the room I was in on the first night the sensor on the ceiling started to have smoke coming out, very slowly…..it was a terrible smell, never smelt it before I put the fan on but the smoke slowly filled the room then the sensor light came on & didn’t go off…Also water started to drip out of the sensor ..So I went to the sitting room for the rest of the night on the lounge. My girlfriend was in a separate room. The next 2 nights we were moved two weeks were moved to different rooms. Also the car parking was not a good experience. It was just bad luck I guess…..thank you…….☹️

Bendigo has got character.

Bendigo has got character. All those historical buildings are well kept and still beautiful. There were so many eating places to choose from. I like the fact that there was a nice .cafe very close to the station. It would have been better if we had a car to explore Bendigo more.

Good design. Unfortunately TV wasn't working.

Good design. Unfortunately TV wasn't working. Friday and Saturday nights were very noisy due to a live music venue at the end of the street. As we are of the older brigade we do not like driving at night so we lunch out and stay in for dinner. No condiments or olive oil provided. No decent sharp knives. We enjoyed our stay but I don't know I would give glowing reports to relatives and friends. Had a wonderful lunch at Alium on Mother's Day.

Exceptional staff and a beautiful building. Photographs of the property are a reasonable guide to what you will experience: lovely premises from Bendigo's golden age. Photographs *can't* show how friendly, confident and helpful are the staff - simply outstanding. For personal reasons I won't go into details, but the Hotel Shamrock has great young workers. Very impressed.

This home is welcoming, charming, well-equipped and comfortable. Its close to a cafe, pub and hospital, and walking distance to the Bendigo tram stops and services. The 10 and 12 year-old children enjoyed the darts, pool and board games provided, as well as the warm beds, heated by electric blankets.

I reguarly stay in Bendigo for work and I have found my go-to hotel. The room was comfortable and spacious, heating is fantastic, everything is clean, no harsh lighting which I appreciate, there was everything I needed, and the option of breakfast is a bonus. Will definitely stay again.

Friendly helpful staff. Comfortable room and a great cooked breakfast. Proximity to the Art Gallery and great eating places like Bangrak Thai restaurant and the Rifle Brigade hotel contributed to a great break away in Bendigo.

We only had one night in Bendigo but were pleasently surprised by what the hotel offered. Our room was very spacious and enjoyed the spa bath after a long day of driving.
