Depressing to see so many closed shops and lack of pride...
Depressing to see so many closed shops and lack of pride which was once a big point .Very poor options for eating,just pub food until you find the RSL which appears a secret.Very bright , staff happy and attentive.

Book your tours early before you arrive if you have limited time, as I was disappointed to find two of the things i wanted to do most of all on my stopover, were already fully booked by 12.30 when i arrived.
If you are traveller with more time available this would not be an issue.

We enjoyed the WWII US Army Air Force secret base and tag...
We enjoyed the WWII US Army Air Force secret base and tag along tour, and the Cosmos Astronomy Centre. Charleville show was on and it was fantastic, especially sheep dog trials and food. Historical museum is interesting. RSL Club excellent food and service. Friendly people, interesting history.

Definitely visit Lisa at the information centre she was fantastic and can help you plan out your stay. She's has so much knowledge of the area.
Recommend booking in with Daniel for the grave tour it was great, We had a blast!
Not many breakfast options around only small cafes here and there with toasties and coffees.
All of the towns attractions/activities operate only during the week which was a little disappointing but they have a massive beautiful park plenty of shade and a great playground for the kids.

Wonderful place to visit.
Wonderful place to visit. People are awesome, lots of adventures that you can't have anywhere else. Cattle Camp Hotel steaks are the best!!!! Have been to Charleville three times and each time has been WOW.

For a nerd like me this was a good town to visit.
For a nerd like me this was a good town to visit. There are some very interesting attractions, especially near the airport such as the Cosmos Centre, and the Flying Doctor display. And in town the Bilby Experience is very enjoyable; the bilbies are worth whatever support you can give manage. The town does tend to close up on Sundays so finding a venue to eat in is restricted but the RSL was open and has good food. Overall I was happy to visit a "Big Sky" town.

Location was absolutely superb, right in the bush with a starry night and kangaroos outside. The cottage was charming and spacious. Our host Debbie was very kind. Charleville is a pleasant outback town with a great bakery (best bread since Sydney) and lots to see. We recommend the Botanical Reserve drive for beautiful Mulga trees and a visit to the Corones Hotel.

The owners were wonderful, we booked for both the first part and then the return trip and they kept the same room for us and let us keep the key as we were going to arrive late. They were helpful and friendly and we will being staying there again if we travel through Charleville again.
