I would recommend Cue as an example of a lovely inland town with an interesting history and some beautiful geological features nearby. It is also great for wildflower hunters. The town is spotlessly clean and tidy (hats off to the Lo al council). Mt Magnet, nearby, has an excellent butcher whose sausages were rated highly by my group of friends.
