The accommodation was beautiful and the host was amazing :) We lounged in the pool during the day looking out over the view, watching the birds flit through the trees. We sat out at night and watched a storm roll through the hills across the valley from our spot in the spa pool. Our room was stunning and we had the best sleeps. The delicious pizza from Bella Vista down the road in the Mapleton township was just the ticket to bring back for a movie in the cinema room. Getting to meet the baby kolas Rachel was fostering was a special treat! I so enjoyed our time staying here and it really made our holiday.

I really enjoyed my stay at Koala Cabins Sunshine Coast! The cabin was spotlessly clean and well-maintained, which made it super comfortable and relaxing. The whole experience was one we will truly remember. Montville Country Cabins has become our favorite holiday destination to date. From the generous complimentary condiments, not to mention baked croissants every morning, to the beautiful scenery from every window especially the bed. The abundance of wildlife surrounding you all times of the day, the spa bath, fireplace, bbq and coziness of the cabin was the best spot for relaxing and rejuvenating. Michael and Karen are incredible hosts. We will definitely be back 🙂

Situated in the hinterland mountains of the Sunshine Coast, this area has great appeal. Good restaurants, boutique shops, and wonderful scenic walks, or for the less active, plenty of scenic drives. Whether swimming under waterfalls, or enjoying excellent food this area is an excellent choice.

Hiking in the area is always fantastic.

Hiking in the area is always fantastic. The shops are quaint and quirky if that's your thing (not really mine) but for me it's the region's nature that keeps me coming back. To that end, there are pretty limited mid-range accommodation options that aren't in the townships. Some areas have more of that sort of thing nestled right among the mountains and forests, whereas in this area that kind of accommodation is harder to find and more expensive - though if you're willing to head down the range to the Eudlo area (it's only a 20 minute drive) you can do well staying there and taking day trips up the mountains.

Mapleton is a small country town on the top of a ridgeline...

Mapleton is a small country town on the top of a ridgeline with that side having views over Mount Coolum and Marcoola to the ocean in the distance. There are numerous hikes/walks in the area including access to the Sunshine Coast Great Walk. If you visit I would highly recommend having a lunch at the Mapleton Hotel, it was an absolute surprise, the food and service was sensational. The more touristy town of Montville is a short drive away. The town also has several coffee shops, an IGA and service station.

Mapleton is a quiet area close to natural beauty.

Mapleton is a quiet area close to natural beauty. Not too far to travel for a light meal. Fish and chips great, meals at Mapleton Tavern. Coastal and country views. Good location for a base. Not too far to drive to Flaxton, Montville and onto Maleny.

Mapleton is one of a string of small villages along the...

Mapleton is one of a string of small villages along the Blackall Range ridge with access to lots of rainforest walks, long and short, lakes, cafes, shops, galleries and restaurants. The Mapleton Tavern had good food and was open on a Monday night when many other venues were closed. Mapleton is much smaller and quieter than its neighbours Maleny and Montville and a nice alternative with less passing tourist traffic.

A lovely little old-school B&B. The hosts are wonderfully friendly folk who genuinely have your interests at heart. If you’re keen on walking and hiking then their property is right on the Sunshine Coast Great Walk track - literally on it! It’s also walkable distance from the Mapleton Pub. Highly recommended for a relaxing weekend in the country.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mapleton Springs. A lot of thought has gone into the accommodation and facilities. Everything was very clean and the beds were comfortable too. We enjoyed the spa, sauna, gym, bbq and lounge area . Everything has been thought out in detail and provided for, which made our stay very relaxing and enjoyable.

Gorgeous little spot nice and close to town. Beautiful view from the verandah and the place had everything you need! It even had a coffee pod machine and frother ! Bonus !! Highly recommend the food and service at Bella Vista Pizza and also the Mapleton Public Bar. Super close to the start of lots of nice hikes.
