We stayed over night on a long road trip.

We stayed over night on a long road trip. Our motel was ideal for our needs, well located and included everything we needed, including being pet friendly. Unfortunately, we were there on a Sunday night and the facilities available in the town were limited, as most places were closed. The one hotel that we found open was not pet friendly and had no outside seating that we could use with our little dog. We eventually went to the IGA Supermarket where we were able to purchase ready-made meals. I'm sure there's more to Miles, but we probably timed it badly.

Don’t forget to see the Historical township set up out there...

Don’t forget to see the Historical township set up out there at the Museum (best I’ve seen), and also go to see Chinamen’s Lagoon, which is right in town and very beautiful and no one there! Take a picnic. It’s so beautiful!

A top little town that seems to be growing.

A top little town that seems to be growing. Very tidy and clean plus everyone I met was super friendly. I was there for work, so not much time to play the tourist but I would happily come back. I did drive out to the cemetery to wander around for a bit as I find that you can learn a lot about a place by checking out its history.

Miles is a lovely town, our stay overnight was very restful.

Miles is a lovely town, our stay overnight was very restful. Staff at Outback motel and Queenslander Hotel were all polite and professional. And the Chemist was also very helpful. A good place to rest for the night before heading further North

We were travelling through on trip to central qld, stayed...

We were travelling through on trip to central qld, stayed overnight. After checkout we found tennis courts down the road (after the iga, on left), they were locked as only avail for hire nowadays, but we were able to have a casual hit against a brick wall and also on a paved basketball court before continuing on.

Miles is a pretty town with an active community who get...

Miles is a pretty town with an active community who get behind a range of causes across the year. I first visited in 2020 and like to stop in at either the start or end of my roadtrips from/to Brisbane. The bougainvillea look beautiful this time of year as you go about town. There's plenty of pretty places to walk or to do some photography; lots of wildlife really close to town and a beautiful place to visit. Some suggestions to visit: most are free or low-cost Miles visitors information centre Miles historical village Train station and park Dogwood Park Chinaman''s lagoon Gil weir Possum Park - needs to be pre-booked! We stayed in the Outback Motel on our way up to North Queensland as a stopover. Fairly standard motel room. It was comfortable. We liked the lion painting on the wall. The Motel is close the facilities such as the little supermarket, the Windsor Hotel (great food) and the Bakery around the corner for breakfast.

Large room, comfy beds and quiet location. Came for the Chinchilla melon festival when there was no accommodation available in Chinchilla. Miles was just down the road so still so convenient.
