Loved the old black and white pub, the atmosphere was very friendly and hospitable. Food was good, staff were great. Spent a whole afternoon sat by the open fire. Rooms were comfortable and the view over the bay was very pretty.

Port Arthur has a lot of history and is worth a visit.
Port Arthur has a lot of history and is worth a visit. As for The Fox and Hounds I’d swerve it as there is clearly no pride there and they are not promoting their product well at all. It’s one for Gordon Ramsey to get stuck into before it gets shut down. We left a day early due to its filthy unkept condition. We were contacted by the Fox and Hounds to ask why we left and told them. They apologised but offered no form of reimbursement. Why would they, they have my money. Id be embarrassed to work there knowing how bad it is. Has massive potential if the correct management run the place.

The actual Convict area is simply amazing as are the free talks that occurred during the day. We were not fully prepared for the lack of outlets for food, lack of super market, restaurants etc. The one good out let offered a range of take away food but not good!

The historic site is magnificent and well managed.
The historic site is magnificent and well managed. The general store is very disappointing, you should not rely on it if you are self catering
Gabriel's, the restaurant by the beach , was excellent I recommend it.
The restaurant at the Port Arthur motel featured poorly trained staff who seemed unaware of what service means. My girlfriend was served lukewarm seafood chowder with both the spoon and the garlic bread partially submerged. She asked for the chowder to be properly heated, this was seemingly done in a microwave. It was then returned with the same soggy bread.

Couldn't get into ghost tours or 1830 restaurant.. they were closed. Tried to get helicopter flight.. left message but never responded. Only 1 decent restaurant but the meals a bit light on considering price point and didn't seem to serve full meal. Loved the unzoo.

The Port Arthur area is beautiful, with glorious scenery and friendly people. The restoration of the Port Arthur Historical Site and the emphasis on truth versus “fairytale fantasy” does a great deal to enhance its appeal. It is not the miserable place that Australian historical literature has traditionally portrayed it as, but we discovered that it was, in fact, a combination of both progressive and regressive measures to reform prisoners. This is made clear by the information available. The staff are very responsive to visitors’ needs and questions, and literally go out of their way to help. Staff were always around everywhere on the grounds, and there was no shortage of help available. One example of this was when we were walking up towards the Soldier’s Memorial Avenue, and a chap driving a buggy asked if we wanted a lift. He then took us on a short, personalised tour of the entire grounds, answering the many questions we had and clarifying what we’d heard (thank you so much). Also, on our walking tour, I discovered I had not booked a time for the harbour cruise, so after we’d finished, our tour guide took the time to ring Reception and get us on the next cruise. The guided tours vary, however, according to personal knowledge and the sometimes political stance of the guides.
When did caravan parks become this good ?
Cabin very nicely refurbished , excellent customer service.
Expansive grounds , campers would love the massive shared kitchen facilities , numerous bbq areas ,a pizza oven and entertainment room with massive tv
For the kids a play area and awesome bike area
Stayed here for one night just to start the Three Capes track the next day. Really very clean, lovely staff, good beds.
The meals in the restaurant are huge. Hotel has a bit of old charme but like I said all very clean.
Even had acccess to the Port Arthur Historic Site with my room key.
Proximity to the Port Arthur site and the hotel was very nice and the rooms were very big, only issue that the water was unfiltered so the rooms had clean water bottles with water in it so that was compensated.
Very convenient to Port Arthur.
Unit was clean and comfortable.
Although we didn’t cook the kitchen had everything that was needed.
Motor Inn a hop skip and jump away had excellent meals.
