New ZealandThese Chalets are a hidden gem! Well maybe not so hidden as the previous reviews led us to this great spot and it didn't disappoint.
We needed a spot near Walpole having done the Tree Walk and then due to do the Eco Tour the next day. If we could have, we would have stayed longer.
It was everything we wanted as a family getaway. Super comfy beds, great layout and amazing outdoor experiences on our doorstep.
If you can, stay for a week! Plenty to see and do in the region and at the Chalets. You and the kids won't regret it.

The beautiful scenery was everywhere.
The beautiful scenery was everywhere. Wonderful walk trails of all lengths and difficulties. The beaches were also gorgeous. The op shop was such a good one. There were blue wrens all over the place. The Phillipino restaurant was friendly and delicious. We could have stayed a week. The tourist bureau was helpful and full of maps to show you the area, picnic spots in all the places. Great place to go and visit with nature.

Post school holidays so a few outlets closed for a few weeks. Disappointed the tourist info centre is not open more. I went down on day it was open at 3.10, closed at 3...!
Tree Top Walk 10/10
WOW boat cruise 100/10. Gary Muir a legend and very knowledgable and the lemon cake is to die for....
Drive to Fernbrook Falls. Pictures - not flowing as is summer.
Mnt Franklin - a great view.

Disapointed with closure of Thurlby Farm Cafe, been waiting years to visit it.
Not too much else really but met expectations of what we wanted.

Walpole was lovely and quiet.
Walpole was lovely and quiet. It was very peaceful with a lovely walk along the inlet and in the forest behind the visitor centre.
If you have a dog, you need to be aware that a lot of the surrounding areas are National Parks, and a dog is not allowed to enter them.
We were able to take the dog to nearby Parry Beach which was good.

Walpole is great for the outdoor family, tree top walk,...
Walpole is great for the outdoor family, tree top walk, multiple state forests and more walking and riding trails than you will fit in. there are 4WD tracks and the beach views are spectacular (don't miss out on Mandalay beach). We highly recommend Walpole as a holiday destination.

Our impression of the town is very good.
Our impression of the town is very good. Civic pride is visible. The town is compact so very easy to navigate. Had to visit the medical center and that went very smoothly. Our visit to the pharmacy, however, did not leave a great impression.
Ate in the dining room of our accommodation. Very good. Excellent service.
Loved the Tree Top Walk and we were totally in awe of the beautiful countryside surrounding Walpole.

Beautiful location just out of Walpole, very serene, surrounded by forest with wallabies and birds. Rustic cabin, very clean with comfortable beds, everything you could possibly need. Have to self cater, cooking facilities good. Chris is so friendly and informative offering suggestions of gorgeous places to visit. Loves a good yarn. So glad we stopped in Walpole, although far too short a stay, it’s a hidden gem.

Everything about Tree Top Walk was really good. Lots of room, nice and clean, comfortable pillows and nice firm bed. The restaurant was not open on the first night we stayed, so we went to a Thai restaurant close by. But the second night, there was the Indian dining we were looking forward to. Meal was great.
It really is a great place to stay and explore Walpole.
Really enjoyed ourselves.

Great spot right on the inlet with cabin overlooking the water and nice walks from the park. Nice touch with a fishing jetty with covered gazebo. Cabin had everything to make a comfortable stay. Close enough to Walpole to pop in for supplies and close to other attractions.

We love this place. Location is perfect and so tranquil. Lots of birds about. Canoes for the river an added bonus.
Close to The Hilltop drive and Valley of the Giants, and Peaceful Bay for a sea swim.
And do go on a WOW trip from Walpole with the brilliant Gary Muir
