Sun-drenched and laidback, Perth is simply a joy to be in. However, the West Australian capital does have tourist attractions, such as the Colonial-era mint, important in the country’s gold industry. East is the WACA, a must-see for cricket fans, and the city is also mad for Aussie Rules football.
The city centre has the historic Government House and Supreme Court, both dwarfed by the ultra-modern skyscrapers a few streets behind. The best skyline view is from leafy King’s Park, near the War Memorial overlooking the Swan River below, named after its black swans. Across the river in Perth Zoo are more native animals including koalas, crocodiles and free-hopping kangaroos.
Boats to the zoo leave from the Barrack Street jetty by a sail-shaped bell tower. Other day trips from Perth include Rottnest Island and Fremantle, down the river in the opposite direction from Perth Airport.
The apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Perth are spread all over this fantastic city, interspersed with restaurants serving specialities such as western rock lobster and chilli mussels. There is also a wealth of bars, many playing the indie music that the city is known for. Local brews from the Swan Brewery and wines from the Swan Valley vineyards round off the evening.
Perth is a great tourist spot with a beautiful river flowing...
Perth is a great tourist spot with a beautiful river flowing through its environs. Kings Park has magnificent views and also very picturesque from a flora point of view. It’s a very pretty drive through the park.
Food lovers have many fine restaurants at their disposal and the choice of hotels is wide and varied which can assist if on a budgeted stay.
A quieter city than the big cities (e.g. Sydney and Melbourne), but a very pleasant destination and being the focal point of Australia’s biggest state.

A week in Perth allows you time to see all the attractions.
Free city buses a great way to get around.
Perth trains are also very easy to use and economical.
Rottnest Island was very busy on the weekend, but it was the best weather day of our trip. Look for the discount codes on visitor brochures before booking trips as generally 20% discounts offered at booking station.
Ugly duckling winery in Swan valley had great cheese platter, good wine and pleasant surrounds, and live music on weekends.
Perth Mint was worth the visit.

how rude that for such short term just sight seeing tripper...
how rude that for such short term just sight seeing tripper to check normality by the officer of the country entering , i am bit surprised that they checked the entire content of my suit case, and ask several question over and over again and let me wait for 5 min for nonsense, (there were another person who are same as me let him wait, Never knew he could enter this country afterward) even already done the ETA that was not free. i am not talking about hotel, but airport. plus, chose some wrong restaurant even if i found goodness in google map info,(was my fault anyway). the hotel , especially bath room was nice, but no window.

I was working everyday so did not see much of the city apart from a long walk on Saturday before I left. Most of my time was spent on the UWA campus which is a gracious mix of architecture and gardens.
We travelled to Perth with our family and stayed at Holiday lnn Perth City Centre hotel for 4 nights. The hotel room was comfortable and clean. The staff were excellent and very helpful. Special mention goes to James who accommodated our request for an early check-in when we arrived early and also to Seb who helped us arrange for car rental when all the nearby car rental companies had run out of cars. This saved our holiday! We will definitely stay at Holiday inn Perth City Centre in future and will recommend it to friends.
The best thing about the Pagoda is the price; a spacious 2 bedroom apartment is much more affordable than a comparably sized hotel room in the city. We had a car so still easy to get to and explore Perth CBD/Northbridge which is relatively close.
The staff in the hotel restaurant at breakfast-time were gracious and patient.
The suburb where the hotel is located is pleasant for exploring (IMO).
The free street parking for your car is great.
location was super handy to Subiaco, Perth & northbridge, rooms are very spacious & have everything you need. apartments are much more value for money than just a hotel room seeing as you get a whole kitchen, washing machine etc.
