The roof top bar - Songbird was a lovely place to relax and unwind at the end of the day with a gin and tonic. Lovely setting with great views of the city. The location was perfect with easy access to the ferries and river tours and Elizabeth Quay. The rooms were large, clean and had everything you needed. My room had a stunning river view with a view of the Bell tower.

FAQs about hotels in Perth

Serene as the Swan

Sun-drenched and laidback, Perth is simply a joy to be in. However, the West Australian capital does have tourist attractions, such as the Colonial-era mint, important in the country’s gold industry. East is the WACA, a must-see for cricket fans, and the city is also mad for Aussie Rules football.

The city centre has the historic Government House and Supreme Court, both dwarfed by the ultra-modern skyscrapers a few streets behind. The best skyline view is from leafy King’s Park, near the War Memorial overlooking the Swan River below, named after its black swans. Across the river in Perth Zoo are more native animals including koalas, crocodiles and free-hopping kangaroos.

Boats to the zoo leave from the Barrack Street jetty by a sail-shaped bell tower. Other day trips from Perth include Rottnest Island and Fremantle, down the river in the opposite direction from Perth Airport.

The apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Perth are spread all over this fantastic city, interspersed with restaurants serving specialities such as western rock lobster and chilli mussels. There is also a wealth of bars, many playing the indie music that the city is known for. Local brews from the Swan Brewery and wines from the Swan Valley vineyards round off the evening.

Love Perth as it is so beautiful, not too busy and gorgeous river & bays & beaches. The homes in the suburbs all look so pretty. There are lots of cute cafes around the University (UWA) area. Love the free CAT buses and so easy to use & get around Perth.

Perth city is wonderful for the heritage views along with the parks and gardens. The Perth Cat Bus system is great for hop on hop off visiting. The Swan River is a fantastic river for exploring outer reaches of the city.

Found the Art Gallery a bit negative in its curation but the museum excellent. Fremantle and Rottnest were excellent - Rottnest is a real push in a one day trip even with the hop-on off bus (missed out on the battery and the seals). Enjoyed Cottesloe beach and Fremantle for a wander. Shipwreck museum was very interesting and the Jail tour fascinating; but insufficient time for the WA maritime and Submarine museums. Bell tower well worth it. Whiteman Park and Caversham Wildlife Park were well worth the train ride, but again ran out of time so did not see the Motor, tractor or Transport museum ( Granddaughter's desires outvoted Grandad's). Generally getting around by Bus and train was easy.

Perth is easy to get around in.

Perth is easy to get around in. The people are very kind and helpful. Wish we'd had a chance to get out to the astronomical observatory and take in a live game of footy. Loved the diversity of the local population and the opportunity to experience a wide range of cultural food choices. Made it easy for vegan members of our group.

The weather was perfect for our 4 days in August, the wildflowers were out in Kings Park. We hired a car & found Perth easy to get around with navigation. Founds a few shopping precincts with cafes & everything available to cater for ourselves.

Perth is a beautiful place, lots of nice areas to explore and visit. Naturally pretty with beaches, parks, and ferry cruises being the highlights. Need more than a few days to explore the beaches, Rottnest etc.

We had a wonderful stay at Aloft Perth. The hotel is modern, stylish, and impeccably clean, with comfortable rooms and a great atmosphere. The staff were genuinely warm, friendly, and welcoming, making us feel looked after from check-in to check-out. Nothing was too much trouble, and their excellent service really stood out. A fantastic place to stay in Perth, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Highly recommended!
