There is something about this old stone building: it's old-fashioned and modern at the same time. The room was more than spacious with an amazing view on the old castle above Old Town. Breakfast was continental with a variety of choices of cold cuts and other products.

Perfectly located right by the square. There was space to park your car inside a garage. The apartment was incredibly clean. Natural light and ventilation was great. The hosts were very friendly and quick to reply to any questions.

The pool! 🏊‍♀️ It was a massive treat to have such a lovely pool and incredible outside space. 😍 The apartment was beautiful and well finished inside and out. The beds were very comfortable also. I also liked the shower. We had a very relaxing stay.

What an incredible stay we had at Family Sakota Country House! From the moment we arrived, we felt truly welcomed by Svjetlana and Milivoje. Their warmth and genuine hospitality are unmatched. You can see and feel the love and care they have poured into this spacious home, from the tasteful interior to the beautifully maintained garden. The property is simply stunning: a large swimming pool, vast grounds all around the house, and complete privacy and peace. Yet, charming destinations like Mostar, Blagaj and Stolac are only a short drive away. It’s the perfect combination of serene relaxation and cultural day trips. Svjetlana and Milivoje also know all the best places to eat in the region and are happy to share their insider tips. They truly care about their guests and go above and beyond to make your stay unforgettable. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to extend our stay by three extra days. That’s how relaxed and at ease we felt here. They speak a little English, but with the help of Google Translate and ChatGPT they communicate wonderfully. Always with a smile, patience, and all the time in the world to make sure you are happy. You can feel their pride in their property, and rightfully so. For anyone who wants to experience the warmth of the people in this region, combined with a beautiful home, a huge garden and complete tranquillity, this is an absolute must. We loved the hike to Daorson, the Illyrian ruins.

We loved the hike to Daorson, the Illyrian ruins. It's about 5 kms one way. a bunch of old stones for some, some fascinating ancient megaliths for others. The fortress just above the city was only a short walk with beautiful views. Both have free entry. There are also also some UNESCO sites of 'stecci' or medieval Christian tombstones along the main highway. There is a beautiful river which runs through the entire town and a part of it also has a small waterfall. Great for bathing in the hot summer sun.

For those who seeking peace, good food, authenticity and genuine encounter with the soul of Hercegovina, Stolac is the destination not to be missed. If you visited in the summer period try the fruits, rich with flavors and aromas, the most delicious I have ever tasted.

There are fantastic attractions for prehistorical friends...

There are fantastic attractions for prehistorical friends like Daorson megalith city and Badanj Cave within 5-6 km. The bogumil stecaks of the Radmilja Necropolis are well reserved and very interesting. Walking arround the river is very romantic with the view to the ruins of the old castle. You can find a lot of lovely restaurants and bars along the rivers. The waterfalls are beautiful, if you are enough brave, you can bath in them too.

Stolac is rich in history offering beautiful sites from medieval period, a swim in a river Bregava, or a lunch/dinner overseeing river slopes. It's perfect location unwinds the possibilities from swimming in a Adriatic sea in Neum - Bosnia's town on the coastline, only 30 minutes drive from Stolac, or a trip to Mostar. The proximity of airport is another extra incentive for anyone travelling from afar to easily reach this beautiful country and the region. There are countless number of activities for one to explore - from hiking, bike riding or exploring the verity of wineries throughout the surrounding area.

Stolac is a beautiful historic town with the beautiful Bregava river running through. I love how perfectly positioned Stolac is. We did so many day trips to the surrounding areas i.e. Kravice, Buna, Pocitelj. Everything was within half an hour drive. Also, people of Stolac were very kind and helpful. Highly recommend Stolac as your next destination. I know I will return and very soon ;)

A wonderful town of Herzegovina grasped in a gorge among the beautiful mountains, halfway between Trebinje and Mostar. A place where time stands still. There is definitely a lot to see here. Pleasant riverfront, impressive waterfalls, the old Vidos fortress on the hill above the town, beautiful old mosques, buildings and bridges. There are also traces of the recent war in the city and a lot of ruins. The best restaurant in Stolac is the Old Town where you can find really cheap and delicious food. From Stolac it is easy to reach the main attractions of the region: the necropolises of Radimlja and the Boljuni, the ruins of the ancient city of Daorson, the church from the 16th century in the village of Oshanichi. Blagaj and Počitel are also nearby.
