Super cosy and characterful hotel. Excellent location right in the Old Town but two minutes from Kapana. The staff are friendly and helpful, and extra touches like the glass of wine offered each evening add to the hospitality. Breakfast is fresh, local and generous. I have stayed here before several years ago and was happy to return.

Amazing and modern city. One of the two real cities in Bulgaria (Burgas and Plovdiv). Plovdiv is must to visit in your live, as much as Athens, but is much more beautifull and full with atractions, concerts and art activities, with nice places to go and amazing coffees and restaurants.

Plovdiv has so much to offer, great bars and restaurants and of course it is stepped in history for thousands of years. The town has a fantastic atmosphere and it’s it so easy to move around as such a small city, you can easily be having lunch in old town and then taking coffe in a fashionable shop. Having breakfast in an amphitheater was just amazing. The Roman history is stunning as is the more recent…. Makes Sofia look dull

Interesting to see the Old Town and new town of Plovdiv.
Interesting to see the Old Town and new town of Plovdiv. Definitely need to make use of a walking tour to hear about the history etc especially the Ancient Stadium of Philipopolis which runs under the H & M store! We used Plovdiv Trips for two tours out of the City which was well worth it. Karmen and Stoyan were both excellent and knowledgeable guides. Plenty of good eating places and friendly

Plovdiv is a city of contrasts, spanning many centuries.
Plovdiv is a city of contrasts, spanning many centuries. You can't help but stumble across history wherever you go. The centre is largely pedestrianised, making it easy to walk around, with lots of bars, cafes and restaurants, as well as shops.
Highly recommend the the Free Plovdiv walking tour which starts every day at 11am from outside the town hall in the centre. Very informative and takes you to all the key locations, giving you a great starting point from which to explore further. Check out the Kapana area for food & drink and the Old Town.
The location was great, close to the centre and near all the tourist sites of Plovdiv. The hotel itself was very clean and tidy, and the decor was very nice and modern. Our room was great, with comfy beds and a nice sofa to sit on and a lovely modern bathroom. Breakfast was very nice, all hot and fresh and the restaurant was beautifully decorated as well. The staff were very welcoming and super helpful, to non-Bulgarian travellers they helped with parking and what to do and see in the area which was very helpful. We would love to stay again!
everything is perfect. the location is great if you want to explore the old town. It was not easy to drive up to the hotel because it is located in a restricted area, but we were able to drive in and stopped for a short time to load our luggage. The elevator is very small, but big enough to lift our luggage. The hotel has no parking of its own and it is impossible to park on a nearby street, but we parked in the Ramada parking lot for a reasonable fee.
The breakfast was excellent, even though the restaurant was temporarily out of order.
Everything was very nice, they looked at the little things like a welcome not with little cakes, I said I was coming withmy dog so room was prepared with dog bed and water bowl, had a complimenty water.... . Room was very nice and grounds were very nice. Breakfast was very nice with fresh omelet cook there. Will be staying again when I go to Plovdiv. Staff were very nice, freindly and ready to help. Am a USA expat and this is the nices hotel I have stayed at in Bulgaria.
The location of the hotel is right in the heart of the old city which makes it really nice if you do not want to spend time walking to much to find the old town, and also the area is quite silent in terms of traffic.
The receptionist was super friendly waiting for us with lemonade and water, also offering local wine and cheese as amenities.
The whole hotel is decorated keeping the old Bulgarian motives and gives you a nice view in to the history times.
Amazing apartment
The best we have been to to date in all of Bulgaria.
Furnished in everything it lacks nothing and has an amazing coffee machine.
Everything is kept new and very clean.
We always found parking right under the apartment.
Landlord Emil is always available and answers quickly and helps with whatever is needed.
If it were possible to give the apartment 100 stars we would give.
Thank you Emil for the wonderful hospitality in the apartment.
The Grand Hotel Plovdiv is a large hotel that gives you plenty of space to escape the city. The rooms are large and well organized. The lobby is huge and provides plenty of places to sit and read or talk. The location is quite central (even though it may not appear so on a map) and is only 10 minutes to the popular Kapana district. It's very easy to reach by car or train (via quick taxi). The staff have always been very helpful to me.
The internet was stable and enough for me to attend online business meetings. A good group restaurant next to the hotel with excellent food was a huge benefit. Clean and spacey rooms. The equipment quality in the room and the bathroom is very good. Responsive and friendly staff. Own private parking space is a big bonus. Breakfast is more than enough, with good quality foods.
A gem of a hotel. Small, family run quirky hotel in a fantastic location in the old town. Owner lovely & very helpful despite our very limited Bulgarian. Nice size room & good size bathroom with hot shower. Our friends came by car & the secure parking was a real bonus. So near to everything - museums/ Roman ruins / bars & restaurants
The overall experience meets the expectations for a 4-star hotel. Clean, fresh and big rooms, nice furniture, luxury bathrooms with fancy tiles and music in the ceiling. Awesome view towards the water. Nice breakfast in a spacious restaurant which was never overcrowded during my stay. Free parking
this is a unique place - very modern and eclectic design combining nature with progress in a traditional house; I have neve seen so much luxurious amenities in a guest house and even in a pretentious 5 star hotel; very easy check in and check out, very clean, the host was welcoming and helpful
The hotel is placed in a good area, 10 minutes walking from old town.
The mini kitchen had a mini-refrigerator, an electric cooker and a boiling can. There was also a minibar in the room.
The receptionist gave us useful info ref the places to visit.
The parking and the breakfast were ok.
It was a short stay, but even we have arrived late reception was manned (is not always the case in Bulgaria at hotels of this number of stars), the room was ok (a bit above the number o stars of the hotel), also they have private parking, even though are in "busy" area of town.
For business purposes the location is okay! Easy to reach from the highway, easy to find, easy to park.
The rooms are well kept, clean, comfy, and soundproof.
The restaurant dishes are delicious, good variety and good wines.
Breakfast is within the range of the hotel class.
The location of the hotel was great. It is in the old town so you can walk everywhere. The room was enough for 4 person. The breakfast was adequate though not perfect. The owner was very friendly and helpful. Also you can park your car in font of the hotel without payment.
Location was quiet and good with secure car park at an extra 8 leva a day...
Just about enough cups & Cutlery and a kettle.
Small fridge in bedroom (+/-)
Rooms were large & airy with good Wi Fi connection.
Adequate conversations with renter by telephone (In Bulgarian)
Nice and cosy small hotel located at the heart of the old town. It’s also very important to note that they can offer free parking nearby which is not possible otherwise.
We loved the larger room with terrace on the last floor
It’s a fantastic combination of traditional historic building and modern comfort of the 5 star hotel. Lots of attention to the details.
We loved the place!
