Leslie’s Private Paradise is exactly that, a wonderful place to reconnect and relax. Mr. & Mrs. Leslie were very welcoming and treated us like family, the dogs too lol! We look forward to our return visit!
This complex is surrounded by nature and it is 15 minutes’ drive from Belize Capital City. It features a swimming pool, sun terrace, an extensive garden. I loved everything about this place. It's located in the jungle with animals all around you. The rooms are big and dark at night with the shutters closed. Our room was very secluded from the others. It was like we had our own cabana in the jungle. I wish we could have stayed longer than just one night. If I return to Belmopan, I would definitely stay here again. Word of advice....when you turn onto Young Gal Rd, keep going until you see the sign for the hotel. The sign off the highway says 1 mile and that is incorrect. It's more like 1.5-2 miles from the highway.

Not much in Belmopan. We stayed here just to sleep because we could not get a room in San Igancio for that night. Belmopan is safe, cheap and the capitol. Just not much else. You can do tours from Belmopan but San Igancio is the happening place.
Belmopan is the smallest capital city of any country in the world. It is truly a safe haven in a place that is often portrayed as dangerous country by virtue of crimes per capita. I lived with my wife and three children in Belmopan for one year with out incident and with complete peace of mind.
We didn't have enough time to do all we wanted. We did enjoy swimming in the Inland Blue Hole and hiking in the area. Dream Valley Resort Was a beautiful place we stayed by the river. We used a canoe and went on the river right at the resort. We also drove up to Lamanai ruins in Orange walk through a Mennonite community, Please be respectful of there ways when you go. We saw 3 temple ruins and Howler monkeys who have taken up residence there, as well as other Nature sights It was really a fun experience.
We stayed in Belmopan because it was between Belize City and Hopkins. It was closer to Xunantunich so we stayed there, but there isn't much to do in the city. We had pizza at Pasquale's, which was good.
While not nearly as bad as Belize City, still a lot of poverty and buildings in bad shape, roads still bad, but a lot of road work near our hotel. Usual lack of street and road signs. El Rey on Moho is a nice place, Tree House around the corner has nice food, both staff friendly.
Only stayed 1 night passing through to beach. Ate dinner at Corker which I would highly recommend. Michael, our server was probably the best server I have ever had anywhere! And the food was amazing.

We loved the location of Tiny Houses, which is tucked back into a neighborhood west of Belmopan. The location does make it harder to access, and further from restaurants and tourist destinations, however we had a lot of luck using the bikes provided by the property, as well as catching the local mini buses into town. The owner of the properties, Karen, is an amazingly friendly woman. She communicated promptly with us before our visit, and was very accommodating and helpful during our visit. She even picked us up from the bus station!

The setting is just amazing and the hotel was very beautiful. The food in the restaurant was also very good and we had two wonderful servers, Elito and Ami. This is a must stop if you are interested in seeing some of the beautiful lush jungle areas in Belize. I recommend you try the picnic lunch at the gazebo hike. The staff will carry the food and drinks up for you and when you arrive to your stunning view you will be treated to a beautiful picnic setting.
What a gem! It is situated in this hidden valley close to Belmopan- beautiful murals painted on the walls; spotlessly clean; troops of howler monkeys passed by in the night and in the morning I woke up to mist hanging in the trees- absolutely peaceful; the owners will gladly sell you some of the organically produced veggies and eggs of the area- interesting and helpful young people.

The Family Style Dinners they had were a wonderful way to visit with everyone & trade stories. Their Tour Guide "Mario" would be the best reason to go because he was probably the BEST tour guide we have ever had.

The property was reasonably priced for where else there was to stay in Belmopan. The room had a good shower and working aircon, which is a must as Belmopan gets very hot.

Good location- near a store, bakery and laundry. Marta will help you with anything you need. Belmopan is quiet but a good central place to go to the zoo/ ATM cave etc.

The owner was service minded, open, gave me tips what to do and what I should avoid - even outside Belmopan. Would liked to stay for longer.
