Blue River
Offering an indoor hot tub, Glacier Mountain Lodge is located in Blue River and provides access to mountain bike, cross country ski and snowmobile trails. A scenic view of the mountains is enjoyed. The manager! He was very friendly told us about Blue River. It appears he really cares about the guests. Very attentive to the guests needs. Everything was clean and neat. The little take out cafe was very good as well. The breakfast in the morning was great, just what we needed before our trip.
Blue River
Less than 10 minutes’ walk from Eleanor Lake and surrounded by the mountains and wildlife of Blue River, this British Columbia campground features cottages with running electricity and free Wi-Fi. We stopped here on our way from Vancouver to Edmonton (it's right mid-way) and loved our stay. The cabin is very warm with an electric heater. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The area is great, and the wilderness around offers numerous exploration opportunities. It's pretty rustic, so don't expect anything fancy and bring your sleeping bags. Make sure to have a burger at the Grizzly Food Shack (a 5 min drive from the campground), it's fantastic.
Blue River
Conveniently located on Highway 5, this smoke-free Blue River hotel offers on-site dining. Free Wi-Fi is provided in all guest rooms. Blue River town center is just 0.6 mi away. Very clean rooms, the bed was SO comfortable and the staff was vey friendly. The food at the restaurant was wonderful, portion size was perfect and it was very flavourful. We would definitely recommend this hotel and we would definitely stay again
Blue River
Located 44 mi south from Valemount, the remote Bone Creek Wilderness Retreat offers 5 cabins with full kitchen facilities. Free WiFi is provided. Mountain views can be enjoyed. Very clean cabin. Friendly staff. Dogs and chickens around. Close to highway, but far enough from the noise. Amazing view.
The staff and owners are super kind. It’s a plus as we are able to bring our dog with us. Very clean place wonderful walking trails, fishing and so much more. I would recommend this campground to anyone who is looking for a campground that offers a variety of accommodations as well as activities.
Blue River is a simple but excellent place to stop for an overnight refresh if one is driving between the West Coast and points east (Alberta). It's simple, with few eateries, but accommodations are available and the staff are friendly and the place is clean.
There are no places for groceries, wine store and restaurants in Blue River. I would have cancelled my reservation at no charge but it was too late and continue my trip to Kamloops for the accommodation instead would have been preferred. I would like a refund for my stay.
The best attraction in Blue River during the summer months is canoe camping on Murtle Lake in Wells Gray Provincial Park. However, be aware, it is a windy 27 km dirt road to get there, and takes about an hour. Once at the parking lot, there’s a 2.5km portage to Murtle Lagoon, which can be a little strenuous at times. There are organized tour groups that can take care of your transportation and portage needs and save you the hassle. Once on the lake, it is absolutely beautiful. Murtle Lake is known as the largest paddle only lake in North America, and is surrounded by beautiful sandy beaches and great camping spots around the entire lake. Highly recommend !
If you are in Blue River and are looking for a place to stay I recommend Glacier Mountain Lodge and for a meal ‘the Grill’ located in Sandman Inn. Excellent home cooked meal, very reasonably priced. Will come again.
We liked the afternoon we spent at the cafe at River Safari Tours. Other than that there was little to do. It would be a good location if you were interested in river tours or took your own kayak or canoe.
Blue River
The location is terrific. Blue River has Elenor Lake in the middle which is great for swimming and cooling off. The campground has activities available like bikes, basketball, canoes for rent. The staff were very friendly. The cabins have a fridge, a fan and a heater.
Blue River
The location was good and I loved that we could open windows which was great as many hotels don’t offer this. The hotel was nice and views were beautiful.
Blue River
I am disappointed that booking .com charged me a lot more than if I would have if I booked directly with the hotel😡
Blue River
Very clean cabin. Friendly staff. Dogs and chickens around. Close to highway, but far enough from the noise. Amazing view.
