Amazing cottages, great views, lovely peaceful location in the middle of winter. Easy check in with door code. There was a big snowstorm the night before we left, and the staff were very accommodating in helping us leave. Would definitely return.
This Salt Spring Island guest accommodations is located on a property with a sculpture park and a wood-fire bakery. Such a beautiful, cosy log cabin in a quiet location but just a short walk to the local pub and shops/restaurants. The cabin had everything we needed for our short stay and the freshly baked bread was some of the best we've ever had. Thanks for a great stay!

Kayaking at Montague Harbour Marina was excellent with our guide Bruce. Christina went out of her way to organize our tour. Hiking Moont Galiano, Montague provincial park, and Bodega Ridge were great. Morning Beach was our favourite beach. Hummingbird Pub staff were great.
Having been to Galiano before it was not new to us, although we usually go by boat and don't have the means to travel all around the island. This time we drove and got to see so much more. As it was fall the scenery was gorgeous with trees changing colour and leaves falling. Also the weather co-operated and we were able to tour around with the top down and really appreciate the beauty of the island.
It's a small island so there is not much to do other than hike or sit by the beach and reflect on life (weather permitting). For some, including myself, that is all that one needs to have a nice decompressing weekend away from the city. The Crane and Robin pub/resto at Montague Harbour is a nice place to eat lunch. On wet days, the Hummingbird pub is a nice place to sit and read with a drink to hand as it has a cozy log fire burning. There are moped rentals down at Montague Harbour and there is a free bus that takes revellers between the pubs but unless you are a mad keen cyclist or really like long walks, a car is probably the best way to get around.
Tranquil and relaxing with an abundance of activities in nature: including beaches (Morning Beach, Retreat Cove and Pebble Beach were all amazing - sandy, secluded and no other people); bluffs with awesome views of the islands and ocean; Montague Harbour has a wonderful trail on beaches and through the forest as well as good restaurants afterward; biking on tranquil country roads which was challenging in places due to the hills. Great Restaurants at Woodstone Manor, and the Robin & Crane at Montague Harbour.
Galiano is a magical island immersed in nature and wildlife! We loved the midnight kayaking with bioluminescence plankton under the starry night’s sky, and exploring the secret cave at Retreat Cove. We are fish tacos with a view of the sea at Crane and Robin Restaurant. The people were very friendly and helpful!
Great location- with beautiful view of the water. Very near the ferry terminal so if feet noise bothers you be aware- was not an issue for us. Recently updated rooms with nice bed linens, refrigerator and microwave in the Queen deluxe suite. Other reviewers are correct- lobby only open 8-6 so plan accordingly.
