Stayed just one night after arriving on ferry from Nanaimo, Vancouver Island. Hotels in Vancouver are very expensive; this was a good alternative. Bus to city is right outside Ferry Terminal, motel is just two minutes walk away.
We stayed as an overnight before boarding the ferry to Vancouver Island and found a charming town worthy of a visit itself. Quaint restaurants with beautiful views over the harbour and gift shops to explore. Go past the toll exit and enjoy the scenic 16 km drive on the way, Spectacular.
I didn't plan to eat there but I have eaten many times before when I've arrived early for my ferry. I chose to arrive the evening before so I could be well rested when I headed off to Gibsons. I like Horseshoe bay and if I do it again, I will get there earlier and have a meal before bunking in for the night. This strip wasn't about shopping or enjoying Horseshoe Bay, it was about resting.
We love the area. My husband & I enjoy being close to the water, walking the dock, watching the boats & ferries come & go. We have been to the area before & enjoyed the scenery & food at The Boathouse, it never disappoints. While in the Bay we also enjoyed food & drink @ the Olive & Anchor.
Staff and location were great. Very relaxed environment. Needs air-conditioning desperately though. Also feather pillows were not good for allergies. Didn't realize I was sleeping on one until middle of the night.
