BrazilEverything was perfect. Room was really comfortable and clean, and was already in a comfortable temperature with AC when we arrived (it was a very hot summer day). The whole hotel seems pretty new and well maintained.
The desk staff are very friendly as well. And the pool and jacuzzi are the cherry on the cake.
For the same price as this one, I've been to far worse hotels, on this same trip. So overall a pretty good cost/benefit.

Vernon is a lovely town to visit in the summer or the winter...
Vernon is a lovely town to visit in the summer or the winter. It is located on beautiful Kalamalka Lake and below Silver Star Mountain Resort, a short half hour drive away.
There are a couple of amazing public parks such as Kal Beach and also Sovereign Park and Beach located on the lake, with abundant parking and very clean washrooms. Kal Beach also has a concession stand and a gift shop and restaurant nearby.
Silver Star Mtn Resort is open in the winter (of course) and the summer for mountain biking and hiking with access to the mountain via gondola.
Vernon is also an incredible destination for cyclists, offering a diverse mix of world-class mountain biking, scenic gravel paths, and challenging road climbs framed by Kalamalka and Okanagan lakes
Also check out Caravan Farm Theatre, a renowned, non-profit, professional outdoor theatre company, based on an 80 acre farm near Armstrong, BC, about a half hour drive from Vernon.
Vernon has a small town charm and easy access to Lake Country in the Okanagan Valley and the other fantastic areas of British Columbia.

Everything is closed on Monday's.
Everything is closed on Monday's. We happened to pass through on a Monday night and though we'd wander around to do some shopping, but barely anything was open. Even if it was, I don't think we would have found much. The staff in stores that were open were truly delightful people, but I can figure out why anyone under the age of 65 would wanna go to Vernon. Maybe I am missing something but the lakes can be easily access from nearby nicer and trendier towns. Save your time and money... go elsewhere.

We went to bike and Vernon has an amazing variety of options...
We went to bike and Vernon has an amazing variety of options. Silver Star Mountain provides excellent downhill trails. The Okanagan Rail Trail is a beautiful ride along the lake. Predator Ridge has fantastic mountain bike trails with incredible views.

We enjoyed the Chaos craft market.
We enjoyed the Chaos craft market. We visited some shops in the centre and had a good lunch in a cafe. We did tasting at the Okanagan Spirits Craft Distillery and had a most interesting tour. Otherwise we didn’t find Vernon itself particularly interesting. The countryside around Vernon is beautiful.

The hotel was fantastic and fully met my request for nearby, ground-floor rooms for my elderly parents. Our room had two queen beds, exactly as requested.
The hotel restaurant offers a very good breakfast, lunch, and dinner at fair prices. We also appreciated the convenience of the bar attached to the hotel, where we could order food to take to our room outside of regular meal hours.
The pool and hot tub were at the ideal temperature and very clean.

The venue - Vernon & Area Performing 🎭 Arts Centre was fantastic. Small, but cozy compared to ours in Kamloops. Lovely place and not a bad seat in the house!! We will be back for another concert!!

When I pulled up to the house I was wondering what I had gotten myself into. However, hang in there because from the moment your host Eric shows you around I liked everything. It was a perfect couples getaway. From the well stocked kitchen, to the beautiful bathroom, to the comfortable bedroom. If you are here to ski or just enjoy the many opportunities that the Vernon area has to offer, you would be hard pressed to find nicer accommodations.
