FAQs about hotels in Whistler

About Whistler

Whistler, a town in Canada, is a year-round destination known for its cold, snowy winters and mild summers. The average winter temperature hovers around 30°F, while summer temperatures typically reach 70°F. This climate makes Whistler an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts.

Whistler is renowned for its skiing and snowboarding, with Whistler Blackcomb being one of the largest ski resorts in North America. In the summer, mountain biking and golf are popular activities. The town is pedestrian-friendly, but driving and public buses are also common modes of transportation.

The local culture in Whistler is heavily influenced by its outdoor lifestyle and the surrounding nature of British Columbia. The cuisine reflects this, with a focus on locally sourced ingredients. A popular dish is poutine, a Canadian specialty consisting of fries topped with cheese curds and gravy. The region is also known for its stunning natural beauty, including forests, mountains, and lakes.

I love the Fairmont; it is a great place to stay.

I love the Fairmont; it is a great place to stay. The short walk from the hotel to El Caminetto restaurant was lit up with large "Christmas deer" assembled to show us the way! A magical place at Christmas time.

Whistler is wonderful all year round, whether you're a local...

Whistler is wonderful all year round, whether you're a local or from far away, it is full of adventures, scenes, activities and beauty. I love wandering the Village, exploring Creekside, coffee at Mogul's, people watching from literally anywhere. We had lunch at Hunt & Gather which was great with many options for veg/vegans. It was the end of the low (first weekend of November) season so it was really quiet, but for us that was a plus. Oh and we got sweet treats at Pure Breads which were delicious. Expensive but delicious.

I skiied WHistler/Blackcomb some years ago.

I skiied WHistler/Blackcomb some years ago. If you want an Aspen-like experience this is the place to ski and be seen. It is generally expensive. Now, I prefer Sun Peaks or Big White. Chacun à son gout. Whistler off season is terrific. Plenty of hiking options and the Audain Museum is not to be missed. Spectacular architecture and Canadian art collection beautifully curated and displayed. Our stay at the Summit hotel was most excellent and surprisingly affordable. There is no category for art in the choices, but the Audain Museum is tops.

Whistler is a beautiful destination, it's walkable for all ages, there are so many different paths and trails. Everything was very clean and the landscaping all around the village as well as surrounding areas was very well looked after. The road to Whistler has also been greatly improved which makes for a beautiful scenic drive.

Whistler is beautiful lots of shopping & Restaurant’s to choice from. Loved all the shops. We had a nice dinner at the Keg. Very easy walking even to the peak to peak Gondola. I liked the scenery and being in the mountains however Whistler is very expensive and beginning to show its age. It’s showing wear and tear within the village and stroll. Prices have been jacked up so much that I know a lot of people who used to visit Whistler many times have cut back visits to one.

This hotel is a great base for a ski holiday. Our room was fully equipped with a kitchen and all the utensils ready for extended-stay. I really comfortable fireplace and the pools in Hotel Awas hated there was undercover parking if you drove up the shuttle bus stops right outside if you’re looking to get into a Whistler town and also their laundry facilities on each floor of the hotel very very comfortable place to stay but actually ski in ski out during the winter season.

We loved everything! We'd booked the Deluxe Queen Studio but through our Booking.com rewards we were upgraded to a large one-bedroom suite. It was very spacious and clean, with lovely decor. It had a small balcony overlooking some trees and the pool area. The hotel location was right in Whistler Village and very handy to walk to all the shops and restaurants. The free parking underneath was great. The reception staff were really friendly and helpful.

Our room and the whole hotel is very luxurious. Ideally located for Whistler and Creekside with a free shuttle bus to both, although it’s a very short walk to Creekside. The lovely Nita lake just behind with walks around from the door so you can explore. The south side dinner up the road does a fantastic breakfast as does the hotel. There are three areas to eat and drink we enjoyed all of our meals here. But also enjoyed other local restaurants/bars.

Nice Property, great location in the village. The bath tub in the room was incredible and my pregnant wife loved it for getting a soak in after the pool. The Pool and hot tub area is quite small and it was a busy weekend so not the best, but we had a good time either way. Great restaurants onsite as well with Quattro and Alta Bistro but located at the hotel. Was a great hotel for our two small dogs and the property was very inviting to them.

A very comfortable hotel with a lovely pool area. We were a family of 5 in a 2 bed suite, which we found spacious, clean and comfortable. Excellent showers and Aveda toiletries. Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The location is ideal for families on the edge of the village centre. It is away from the parties and noise of the mountainside but still a short walking distance from everywhere.

Given the other prices in Whistler, this place was a steal - half the price of other 3-bedroom apartments. It was nevertheless large enough for our needs, clean, well-stocked, and the management staff was responsive and helpful. It isn't along the Village Stroll, but it was only a block away, and the distance made for quieter nights. I would definitely stay here again.

Good location, 5 minutes drive to Whistler village and away from the craziness in town. A good place to rest after a full day of skiing. More-than-fictional full size kitchen. Myrna, the most friendly hostess you can ask for, is willing and able to help you with things you might need during your stay while also respecting your need for privacy.

Location is good. Access to main attractions within walking distance. Water station within the hotel and they give you a bottle so you can fill up the water. Asara hotel has a friendly staff and great location. Just ten minutes to the Whistler gondola and ski area. We had an issue in our room and Luis “Lucho” :), helped us to solve it. He was very kind to us, it was so nice to meet him. Also, the hot chocolate in the front was so convenient to get warm in the morning.
