The Mint is a must for my family every time we visit. It isn't well advertised but you can take a self-guided tour, you need to ask at the tour desk (no fee but also no staff info) there are info cards at each window. The Forks is also a family favourite. Behind the Children's Museum at The Forks is a great playground and splash pool for the kids. At the Assiniboine Park Zoo you could spend the entire day. Pack a picnic or eat at the many options on site. Indoor and outdoor playgrounds if the kids need a break. So many animals to see and most are out playing allowing visitors to see them interacting in their habitat. Many beaches to drive to with beautiful sand
Dalnevart Museum on Carlton Street is definitely worth a tour. The museum of Human Rights should be on your list, too. If East Indian food is on your list, then East India Company is the place to eat. Excellent service and delicious food! We prefer to park our car and Uber around the city. Much less hassle and the parkade is a tight fit.
Lots to do and see although very widely spread out. The Forks in the city. Are not to be missed and the 30 mins boat trip is a must. The zoo was disappointing as few of he animals were out due to the heat. The hour Bison Safari at Fort Whyte was 45 mins and an enclosed bus with no AC or PA system was not very satisfactory. We were attending and participating in a major sporting event and he local volunteers were excellent and very welcoming. European .visitors may find the local licencins laws difficult. Don't expect to pick up a bottle g wine a spirits in your local supermarket.
You probably only need 1-2 days in Winnipeg to see everything. You need to make sure to pre-book your Mint Tour if you are going as they do fill up. The Canadian Human Rights Museum is worth the visit (you probably only need 2-3 hours) and you can walk over to the Forks to get some food; also right across from the Museum is a skateboard park and right behind that is a big Winnipeg sign which is fun for a photo op. There are riverboat tours right at the Forks as well. We struggled to find some new or interesting restaurants to try - highly recommend Brazen Hall (burgers are fantastic). Assiniboine Park is nice - we went to a statue park that was there that was quite interesting and unique. Attending a football game at IG Field is a good experience - parking and walking around the University campus was a nice addition to going to the game. We drove and parked everywhere and it was easy to find parking and it wasn't expensive. We also went to the Winnipeg Jets store at the arena - nothing too interesting to see or buy there (the prices were crazy! even for players who won't be playing on the team next year their items were still full price). We definitely wished we had time to go to a baseball game at Shaw Field, the field looked really nice (and it's a very short walking distance from the Human Rights Museum and the Forks so you could do all that in a day with time to spare).
Winnipeg is a friendly city with lots to do for all. We started with driving around the city for a feel stopping at the Waterfront. We could not ship at the Fork. Ran out of time. We visited the Mint (2hrs) and the Bombers game @ IG stadium on one day. The staff was very helpful. The experience was awesome! We went to the Zoo (2-4 hrs) and the Natural History museum (2-3 hours) on another day. Also visited the Human Rights Museum (expect 4 hrs). Also visited the Manitoba Beach at an hours drive and the French side (Louis Riel Tomb/ Cathedral/Legislature).
be especially careful booking with booking ,com I had major difficulty and never got to stay in the place I booked and paid for and never had my funds returned. Booking .com expects me to make long distance calls to settle the matter
This new, clean hotel was a pleasure to stay at. The hotel is near main roads so you can easily get around Winnipeg with a car. Hotel had lots of parking, was near big box stores and groceries, had blackout curtains that work, comfy beds, good coffee and lots of choice for breakfast, pool and workout room were busy but clean and well equipped. Staff were friendly and helpful. Being able to borrow a bicycle and a helmet to go explore nearby Assiniboine Wood and Park was a bonus.
Room was very clean. Hotel is close to airport which is very good and comforting in the morning. Food was excellent in the restaurant. Staff at front desk and restaurant very polite and friendly. very quiet hotel. I stayed only one night and was very tired, so didn't feel to use my computer anymore that is why all bonus questions are not applicable. I didn't pay attention to WIFI but I am sure you guys have a good one. I will be back for sure. Thank you!!
Winnipeg's newest hotel might be the BEST hotel for families anywhere in the city! We spent 2 nights - our room was spacious and comfortable, everything was well laid out. The hot continental breakfast was phenomenal and included scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, waffles, and more...and the pool was very large for a hotel, has a waterslide for the kids, and a lounging area on the deck with lots of natural light coming in. We'll definitely be back!
This hotel is close to the airport and has what is needed for a one night stay. Did not have the opportunity to use the kitchen but if staying longer, it appeared to have everything I would have needed. Pleasant, helpful staff and comfortable room (surprisingly comfortable hide-a-bed) near the airport with easy access to main roads to leave the city.
Staff were amazing. This is my go to hotel every time my family and I are in Winnipeg! I’d recommend it to everyone. Clean rooms, great pool, excellent customer service. Great area. Makes us not want to leave the room when we are there it’s so comfortable!! Keep it up guys!!
Pet friendly at no charge Convenient location outside of Winnipeg on TransCanada near perimeter highway Suite 122 had full size fridge and freezer with kitchenette, stove top, dishes, microwave. very comfortable bed Clean facilities and clean room.
The two best things about this hotel is that they had a level 2 charger for my EV even though I had to pay for parking. Also location location location, it is right in the forks which is a highlight of Winnipeg.
The location was great. It was central to all the main spots to see in Winnipeg. The building was beautiful. I only wish I had more time to enjoy the hotel but we had places to go.
My daughter had to be at the Health Sciences Centre for the day and we are not from Winnipeg so don’t know the area at all. Hotel is advertised as somewhere to stay near the hospital.
It was one of the best hotels on our across Canada trip. Great value for money; rooms were clean and modern. The pool and breakfast facilities were excellent.
Clean and spacious apartment close to the Forks, Manitoba Museum and downtown. Bright, sunny room on a surprisingly quiet street and secure parking lot.
