Located in a farmhouse featuring a small shop that offers characteristic products such as cheese and yogurt, Countryside Appenzell is located in Gais and features a rustic room with views of a garden... Breakfast was of great value and quality. Fresh yogurt from their market, fresh bread, cheese, milk. The landscape around CountrySide Appenzell was beautiful (green hills, mountains). Our hosts were very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. Highly recommend this place :)
The Landgasthof Sternen is located 984 feet from the Bühler Train Station in the canton of Appenzell, 6.2 mi from St. Gallen. Everything was wonderful. The hosts are extremely nice and helpful. Breakfast and dinner were very tasty. It is quiet and the location great for exploring the nearby mountains and the countryside. We liked it a lot and would definitely come back.
Loft AR is located in Bühler. The property has free WiFi throughout the property. This apartment has 6 bedrooms, a cable flat-screen TV, a dining area, a kitchen and a living room. Very comfortable apartment for a very low price! Many space, big parking, very soft beds.
Surrounded by the Alpstein Mountain Range, Ferienstudio Familie Fässler-Dörig offers an accommodations unit with a terrace and views of Säntis Mountain. Everything was amazing. The host was so nice and helpful and she gave us tips on things to do in the area and a coupon book that was good for a lot of different activities in the area. The house was in the Swiss countryside overlooking a mountain range close to ski resorts, hiking, sledding and many other activities. We had a great time and did not want to leave!
The village is sweet, with typical swiss architecture and atmosphere with a terrific view to the Alpstein. Is easy to reach by train with reasonable good connections to the hiking spots in the mountains.
Lovely, quaint picturesque Swiss village. Very well connected to St. Gallen. There is a train every half hour. Excellent place to go hiking from village to village and enjoy the rural culture of Switzerland.
Gais is a small town with nice houses and a few hotels/restaurants but not much else going on. Its a good starting point for a few hikes. Its super easy to get to St Gallen and the Appenzell/Wasserauen area (where most of the tougher hikes are) with the local train.
Gais is a nice place. What we liked the most was the guesthouse we stayed in. We liked to understand how interesting a traditional cattle farm's life can be for urban people if presented in a resourceful way.
