It was o.k. A little bit old fashioned (some 30 years ago would get maybe 4 stars), but we expected this. Location is great and a neaby parking lot as well. Communition was good and we had our keys at the reception even that we came too late. Breakfast was excellent.

Luthern is a farming area, quite pretty with rolling hills,...

Luthern is a farming area, quite pretty with rolling hills, cows, and sheep. The town is very small, with a church, gas station, and a couple of restaurants/bars. We went to the "Crown", very traditional bar/restaurant. It was very good. If you want to relax and rest, with easy walks, Luthern may be perfect. We mainly took it as a base, at reasonable cost compared with cities, for day trips. We drove about 4 hours round trip to most places, such as Lauterbrunnen area, Stoos, and Staubi falls area. Luzern is about 40 minutes' drive. Zurich about 90 minutes. This location may not be suitable for "city tours", or for people without car, but otherwise it is very good. I would gladly return to Luthern in the future.

Beautiful village of Luthern ...

Beautiful village of Luthern ... Hills and walks all around with streams of water and sounds of cows. A very beautiful and peaceful church - one of the best I have seen. Very safe even if you are out and about in the night to enjoy some star light and night views. It's a little off the track from main roads and public transport. So only good for you if you are willing to drive an extra 30 mins to reach the main highways. Might be an issue if there is snowfall or rains as the roads take you up and down the hills and they are narrow in places. But absolutely worth it - especially if you are going in summers.
