The room was very clean, spacious, well-lit, and comfortable. Completely new renovation in very old building. Quiet at night and no church bells ringing every hour. Never heard a churchbell even thought it is next to the old church. Bathroom was also very clean with L'Occitaine body wash and shampoo - a nice luxurious touch! The breakfast was very good, plentiful with lots of choices. The dinner also excellent with high-quality ingredients. Would definately stay here again. Hotel and restaurant staff very polite and accommodating to our needs in the rooms and the restaurant. I can highly recommended this hotel.

The staff is super helpful and friendly, the hotel location is perfect. The hotel provides limited parking space (secured and clean) so make sure you prebook if needed. our room is nice and clean with all the necessary amenities. The breakfast is with plenty of options. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant, the food is very good.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Gasthof Enge Self Check-In Hotel and I can honestly say it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. The room was spotless, spacious, and beautifully decorated, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was super comfortable, and the bathroom was modern and well-maintained. The hotel’s location is perfect – it’s in a quiet area, but still close to key attractions. The view from my room was absolutely stunning, and I spent several mornings just relaxing. One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast – it had a wide variety of fresh options, from fruits and pastries to hot dishes. The quality of the food was top. Overall, my experience was exceptional. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area and will definitely be returning on my next trip!

beautiful city with a river running thru, some stunning 16th century buildings but the church is baroque. Kunstmuseum interesting mix of old masters and Klimt and Van Gogh with at present video art taking over much of the galleries, some of it fascinating. And then walk to Museum Blumenstein ( 10 minutes in gorgeous neighborhood, some fascinating objects, upstairs, free admission) . a pleasure.

Beautiful historical riverside town with a superb Cathedral...

Beautiful historical riverside town with a superb Cathedral . It has many interesting old buildings, towers and an Art Museum, (closed on Mondays). It’s a lovely place to wander around, but beware of cyclists approaching from behind with no warning, especially on the footpaths by the river where there are ‘No cycling’ signs, as we were nearly knocked over a couple of times. Eating out is quite expensive in Solothurn, and on a Sunday evening there were not many places open, but we did find a Chinese takeaway with a few tables inside where we had a nice meal. Solothurn is easy to walk around on foot and is quite compact. Be sure to look out for the beautiful Town Clock tower.

Solothurn's Arsenal Museum has the largest public-access...

Solothurn's Arsenal Museum has the largest public-access collection of medieval and renaissance arms and armour in Switzerland, and is a great mind-opnener to visit. Solothurn is a walled medieval town that suffered the ravages of the Wars of Religion, but now has historic buildings and architecture everywhere. The riverside is a pleasant gathering place for locals and visitors alike. Beautiful town!

Location excellent, in the middle of the old part of the town - The hotel is dog friendly with no additionnal charges, they themselve have a dog which is often at the reception. Excellent buffet breakfast with a selection of cheese, cold meats, boiled egg, cereals, juices, selection of fresh bread, croissant and roles, they provided some gluten free bread at request, teas and coffes included as well in the breakfast. They have a number of themed rooms which was quite interesting.

It's a pleasant modern hotel right across the river Aare from Solothurn Old Town. Our suite was spacious with great floor to ceiling views over the river and town landmarks. We managed to find a parking slot right in front of the hotel. Old Town and plenty of restaurants are just 5-10 min walk away

What a little gem of a hotel. Quirky, a great feel throughout and very clean. Walking distance to the old town of Solothurn. Breakfast had everything and was very nice.
