The privacy of the property was a huge plus. Having our towels changed every day exceeded our expectations.
This beachfront resort is set among beautiful pathways, swaying palm trees and tropical gardens. Guests can relax around the swimming pool or enjoy cocktails at the swim-up bar.

loved the beachview rooms - we'd book one again. Pool was a wee bit chilly to get in, but perfect once in and plenty of opportunities to swim or relax without it being crowded.

Beautiful elegant luxury property. Every detail thought through. Spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Great location right at Muri Lagoon, had a lot of fun paddle boarding. Fantastic pool and hot tub. Never crowded. Delicious breakfast daily, plentiful pastries, cereal, fruit, yogurt and juices. Great staff, led by super helpful owner Nick. All so helpful and kind. 5 plus plus plus Stars!

The place has older and newer units, I had one of the older outdated ones which was probably reflected in the rate I paid for it. But the unit was spacious, had the basics (including a kitchenette) and was comfortable enough. You're only a 30 minute walk to Avarua township, or catch the local bus right out front. It's 5-10 minute walk either direction to a local convenience store. I've stayed at other places in Raro, where the local roosters crowed at all hours, at not set time. Thankfully it was not the case here.

was spectacular. Michele and Svein were fantastic.

The best views and whale ‘swim bys’. The people, cats, dogs and chickens were all friendly and well taken care of. Great spot once you get past the airport which is comfy but understaffed. Lots of long waits going in and out of various lines.

Raratonga is like going back to the 70's.
Raratonga is like going back to the 70's. Very laid back and and at a slower pace. The PEOPLE were exceptionally friendly and informative. They are very proud of their ISLAND and their Heritage and History. They are making every effort to care for their environment and the reef that surrounds the island. The food and New Zealand wines were beautiful, at New Zealand prices, in most of the restaurants. A lot of BNB'S are taking over along the beach, which makes it difficult for workers to find accommodation (as is happening everywhere) It is very peaceful and restful and when the sun is out SENSATIONAL

We loved Rarotonga for many reasons.
We loved Rarotonga for many reasons. We had an excellent experience. The place, the climate, the pace of life, our hostess and accomodation. We dined out every night, we ate a lot at the Muri markets, the local pub, restaurants around the island etc. We enjoyed exploring the island and learning more about the culture. We loved that it was safe to walk , even at night after the night markets. Another plus is that Rarotonga uses NZ currency and English is spoken as well as the native language.

There are a lot of places to visit around the island, food is expensive as they are imported items. Travelling is quite easy as there are not many vehicles on the road. Activites that can be done is swimming at different places on the island. Inland tours and ocean tours and visiting the many old historical places around the island. you have to be careful as there are stray dogs roaming around and they do chase after bikes.

The warmth of the winter weather, the friendliness of the local people, plenty to see and do if desired or just to chill. Good food easily available.
We will go back to Rarotonga and The Cook Islands.
In the end we chose to hire a convertible and we both enjoyed that experience. We particularly enjoyed Margaritas and Maranui Gardens, both had excellent food at reasonable prices. We also found great food at the National Museum (great coffee and homemade cheesecake)

Very family friendly, very easy to get around especially with a hire car. Lots to do or do nothing & just relax on the beautiful beaches.
Recommend the markets, swimming with turtles & sunset at Black Rock Beach.
My stay at Avana hotel in Rarotonga was a delightful experience. The highlight of our visit was the exceptional service provided by Desiree at the reception. Her kindness and helpfulness truly made us feel welcome and well-cared for throughout our stay.
The hotel itself is well-situated, offering a comfortable base from which to explore the beautiful island of Rarotonga. The rooms were clean and comfortable, providing all the necessary amenities for a relaxing vacation.
great location & being able to use Muri beach hotel facilities was a bonus, we ended up eating there a lot as the food was really good & the staff were amazing! we were on push bikes & it was a perfect location for us :) had a working kettle, hair dryer, lots of tea & coffee etc & a good amount of toiletries & good shower pressure, very clean & tidy & lovely staff. amazing views, lovely friendly dogs also :)
This was the perfect place to stay. Perfect location on one of the nicest beaches in Rarotonga and also a short drive to Muri Beach..
Well-appointed small resort with great facilities and a decent restaurant. The fact there are only 15 rooms means it is not overcrowded and it was very relaxing.
Great helpful staff.
Will definitely be returining..
Had everything we needed for the purpose of our trip. It was lovely having a large private outdoor area covered and uncovered. Being close to the popular swimming and snorkeling spots was also a bonus. Our hosts were also very attentive and hospitable. A wonderful welcome for our first trip to the Cook Islands.
