Muri Beach Club Hotel is ideally located on the beachfront at Muri Lagoon. Beachfront rooms have stunning views of the lagoon and off-shore islands. The staff were amazing and o lovely! We were on our honeymoon and got a beautiful upgraded room with a ocean view. Everyday at happy hour we received a sample cocktail for the cocktail of the day and a lovely canapé to start off happy hour. The staff remembered us and were a lot of fun to be around. Overall experience was more than we expected and best we have received

Located directly on the beachfront, The Passage Villas is set on 1 acre of gardens and beach. It offers a swimming pool and free tropical breakfast on your first morning. Beautiful space, sunrise view direct from the room and deck. I'd go out every morning to see the sunrise on the little deck by the sea. I also watched the stars on the beanbag under the palm trees, with a blanket over my legs. It was absolutely stunning. I will sure to be back again in late October 😊

Rarotonga is a wonderful family, couples or single traveller destination. There is something for everyone, the locals are friendly and I felt safe walking at night. Cafe Beluga is a 'must do' for breakfast and/or lunch, the food is devine and quite creative. Raro Mountain Safari tours are also a 'must do' - do it earlier rather than later as you will see places you wish to return to. Our guide was wonderful, funny, knowledgeable and very easy going. The bbq lunch provided was yummy and a lovely way to finish the tour. Accommodation at Lagoon Breeze Villas is perfect for families as the rooms are spacious. Breakfast is a great way to fuel for a fun day on the island and the pool area great for any time of the day.
Weather wasn’t the best but that’s no one’s fault. When sun out beautiful kayaking and sup boarding. Some restaurants were very expensive and not particularly good. No sunsets on this side of Island but a 5-10 min drive solves that .
First time in Rarotonga, never thought of going before Covid hit. So glad we visited, I'll be choosing Raro before the other islands; Fiji, Vanuatu or even Australia as a holiday destination. Beautiful people, beaches and accommodation. Cant wait to return1
Rarotonga is slowly opening up to tourists. The buses were not running to there full schedule so I ended up hiring a car. I hired a car thru Rarocars who were very reasonable and had excellent communication. I would recommend them. Food is expensive ie. 500ml of fresh milk was $8.70. I took cheese, pate, dips and crackers with me. Will defiantly be going back. Charlies bar is worth a visit on the Southern side with good food and fab location. I would not go back to the Yellow Hibiscus restaurant and bar. I would highly recommend the Waterline Restaurant and Bar, the food was excellent as was the staff. Would pay to book. The tropical gardens is also a must.
Such a relaxing place to stay, the local people are so lovely. The weather was great, nice to leave a Canterbury winter and go to 20+ degs Everything was reasonably priced, we did the Koko Lagoon trip, it is a must.
Always enjoy the warmth and relaxed atmosphere in Rarotonga. The singer that is there at all hours of the day and night as you arrive makes you feel welcomed. Great place to take the kids with safe swimming and plenty to do. The older ones enjoy driving the scooters around the island and snorkling in the lovely lagoons.
Titikaveka, Rarotonga
Travellers need to be adaptable and understanding that Rarotonga is a developing island nation. Just about everything, except for taro and coconuts, is imported. Freight costs are high therefore living costs are high. Don't expect a cheap holiday. Also, due to the 2020 Covid pandemic, a lot of Rarotongans have left the island to find work in NZ and Australia. Locals are working two or three jobs to cater to the needs of tourists. Please be understanding and kind to the locals.
Muri, Rarotonga
This was my 7th visit to Rarotonga having stayed at all the top end accommodation and this has to be my favourite, great location, great private pool, sun loungers and dining options on both beach front or private courtyard, could choose between sun or shade. Full cooking facilities including Weber. Great hosts, efficient free shuttle service to and from airport. Absolutely great value for money. Can’t wait to go back next year.
Arorangi, Rarotonga
Newly built villas in a great location. Perfect to watch the sunset and close to Avarua, the airport and excellent restaurants. High quality finishes and fully equipped with everything you require for a great holiday. Rick was a great host and nothing was too much for him. As frequent visitors to Rarotonga, we can confidently say that Serenity is right up there amongst the best resorts on the island.

Lots of good info in laundry and guest lounge. Nice jug of fresh juice in refrigerator and free fruit in office. Modern refrigerator.
Arorangi, Rarotonga
The breakfast was perfect and we were lucky to see whales whilst eating our morning toast. It would be nice to also have shaved coconut as an option for ontop of the fruit but thats just being picky. The location was the best, close to town and muri where most of our activities were.
Arorangi, Rarotonga
The beach was pretty and the area was good for snorkeling, actually the best of the 4 places we stayed while in the Cooks. The front office staff were very helpful and nice, as were the wait staff at the restaurant. The landscaping was very nice and maintained to perfection!

Sanctuary room was excellent. Clean, fantastic view and so close to everything. Facilites at the Rarotongan were incredible. So much to do and different daily activities on offer too. Food was outstanding.
The are many hotels on Rarotonga that require a minimum night stay in order to book a room. It was good that Muri Beach Club Hotel accommodated a short stay when booking.
