These hotels in Montezuma are highly rated by couples: Aves Hotel Montezuma, Eco Lung Hotel, and Anamaya Resort.
Jodokus Inn, Anamaya Resort, and Aves Hotel Montezuma got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Montezuma.
Small but charming and lively resort. Excellent restaurants (particularly fish dishes in 'los Artesanos') and cafes and very easy to book tours through local operators. Crashing rollers and risk of dangerous riptides made swimming somewhat risky, though ideal for surfers. A 40 minute walk along beachside path to north brings you to the magnificent beach of Playa Grande where swimming is a little safer, if not risk-free. A short walk to the south is Montezuma waterfall; it's a must-see although access requires proper footwear and some scrambling/rope work. Swimming in the refreshing pool and launching oneself from the adjacent rocks beneath the falls is highly recommended; not so, climbing up the slippery rocks immediately adjacent to the waterfall as exhibited by some foolhardy locals!
This is a very welcoming place made with a thought for the guests and their comfort! It has everything you need for a top experience, the team was perfect - they take care of all you may need, so you can simply be and enjoy life at the Montezuma beaches! Having the option to cook your own meal, makes it perfect for families with children, but very near-by there are also good restaurants - from 5 stars ones to the simple Sodas - and if you can - dont miss the Soda (Artesanos) nearby, the food there was superb and the prices - surprising in a good way!
It's a very small village, but it has its vibe. Moreover, there are many things to do around: hiking, surfing, swimming, watching bioluminescence, trip to the Isla de Tortuga is also possible. There are plenty of beaches around, which are within walking distance. Despite its size, there are a few very decent restaurants where I would like to go back. If you are not looking for a crazy party place, it's a fantastic spot for a vacation.
Montezuma is a beautiful place! People are rather friendly and there are a lot of different travelers from all over the world. There is often live music and the environment is rather lively! Is possible to go hiking to the Montezuma Waterfalls, or for a delightful walk to Playa Grande :) It is a long way to get here, but I really think Montezuma is a special gem!
Montezuma is for the adventurous traveler who wants to avoid crowded beaches and more developed areas. It’s a bit like a small town that time forgot, but it has all the essentials—except an ATM machine. Bring cash! Most stores & restaurants/bars accept credit cards but our hotel did not. Also local street vendors need cash. If you are driving, make sure to use the WAYZ app; Google maps will lead you through rivers. We found the hike to the Montezuma Water Falls to be a bit too daunting for our age/physical capacity and we’re in pretty good shape in our mid-60s. We enjoyed the day-trip to Turtle Island to go snorkeling. Many other options, such as horse-back riding on the beach and fishing trips are also available for a cost.
Relaxed little village, great beaches, must do hike to waterfall, monkeys, nosebears and others all over the place. There is a bus and taxi's, plenty of restaurants, live music but you can sleep quiet at night. Wake up at 5 with the hawler monkeys and sleep some more.
Montezuma
I cannot say enough good about this property and our stay without sounding like a gushing fool! My husband and I had the best experience ever, our stay in Montezuma has become our favorite part of our 20 day Costa Rican trip. Gerardo and lleana are two of the nicest hosts going above and beyond to help their guests have a wonderful stay. The bungalows are clean and gorgeous, the grounds and setting is spectacular. Anyone can tell that an amazing amount of love and pride goes into making Flor De Paraiso and paradise getaway.
Montezuma
Highly recommend this space if you want a magical living experience in Montezuma!! Without a doubt the most unique homestay’s you’ll encounter. It’s a shame we couldn’t stay longer. We enjoyed everything about Katrin’s beautiful home and Montezuma Beach. Katrin is an excellent host, very hospitable and gave us many great recommendations. The dome was sparkling clean and had all the amenities we needed… watching the stars at night from the garden lounge chair was incredible.
Montezuma
We felt like guests in the most positive meaning, not like clients. Very friendly staff, great breakfast, clean rooms. You can swim in the pool at night and watch the stars. The hotel has not that many rooms and it never feels crowded. The area around the building is large and you can see wild animals. The location of the hotel itself is on some really steep hills, perfect if you like to hike (otherwise a car or similar is really recommended)
Montezuma
The seaside location in a quiet spot in the centre of charming Montezuma could not be bettered. The continuous background noise of crashing waves was comforting. A nice back garden and terrace gave lovely sea views and restaurants / cafes were in easy walking distance. The room was basic but functional and the a/c and fan were useful facilities.
Montezuma
Location of hotel for waterfalls access. Sea views and balcony. Good breakfast with súper views over lush vegetation Yoga in the beautiful yoga space. The hotel is located out of town 15 minute walk up a very steep hill. Okay if you have a car or you can take a cab. We thought it was worth it for the views from the hotel and the waterfalls.
Montezuma
Lovely place with fabulous staff and perfect location! The compound itself is gorgeous, and it is located right downtown in Montezuma, but tucked away enough for you not to be bothered by noise. Felt extremely safe, too, with staff always present by the entrance. 100% recommended!
Staff were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast at the restaurant was wonderful. Breakfast bowl smoothie was the best. And had the best nights sleep in the massive King size bed. Access to the pool at Ylang Ylang hotel was the cherry on the cake!
The view was incredible. I actually saw the sun rise right out my bedroom window. The staff was kind and helpful and accommodating. The theme of the hotel was nice as there was a lot of local art, plenty of beautiful plants, and fauna.
We loved everything about Aves!! The place is beautiful, clean and all the staff David, Juan, Annie, and Mike were super friendly and very attentive! We can't wait to come back and highly recommend this place if staying in Montezuma!
The location of this property is great. We loved the gardens and the tidal pool. Such a beautiful spot for a few relaxed days in Montezuma. Easy walking distance to restaurants and across the road from the base of the waterfall hike.
Montezuma
Our stay here was amazing, and wished we could have stayed another night! It was very unique and quaint. We were able to walk to Montezuma for pizza, but the hosel still felt very secluded. Tucked into the jungle:)
Beautiful hotel ideally situated in the heart of Montezuma, a few yards from the beach and close to all the bars and restaurants. Incredible customer service from the very kind hotel manager
It really is as described but more beautiful. beds very comfortable. great to have AC at night. it’s very quiet yet so close to Montezuma town. the town has some terrific restaurants.
