It’s a very beautiful city. Very cosy and feels like home. The weather was great when i was there. Most people were extremely friendly. There is food for everyone but it was a bit expensive for me as a vegan. But i still had a lot of options in restaurants and supermarkets (especially Lidl). The buses unfortunately are not very reliable but it’s not that big of a city and you can walk to a lot of places instead of taking the bus so that worked well for me. Some beaches are better than the others but they are all really cheap! I would totally go there again..
Nothing really special, apart from the museum and the archeological site. The food is not bad, but againn nothing special - better food in Greece. There is a convenient bus service. The beaches are not best, try another place.
Paphos goes down hill 50 meters from the sea. Much of the coastal strip is very dilapidated indeed with derelict building with smashed windows near our so called 5 star hotel. Many of the so called cultural sights were locked up and did not allow visitors. It is the worst place I have visited in the Med. if you never leave your hotel fine, but if you do it I’d pretty disgusting
Paphos has a great variety of things to do all in terms of city sightseeing, beaches and nature trails. The best way to explore Paphos is by car and the most beautiful viewpoints are outside the city and are along the road to the Akamas Peninsula. To get into Akamas you will need a 4x4 car and plenty of sunscream as there is little shade, especially during the summer.
I stayed for the first time for 7 days, but it still felt too short. The weather was excellent and the city is really beautiful, with loads of tourist amenities like restaurants, coffee shops, and even a co-working space.
Rocky 'savage' coastline on the south which can be spectacular when the waves get up. The street next to the beach north of the harbour has very many bars and restaurants. The castle is a bit lame and the archeological sites are fine if you really have nothing else to do. Food is typical tourist fodder - I don't think you'll find find dining here. You can get around with busses but it's not exactly made easy to know which line goes where. We went in April for the weather otherwise we would have chosen somewhere else. Lots of British tourists of course and I've never seen so much serious sunburn in my life.
Kato Paphos, Paphos City
Very nice and cozy apartment in city centre, only 3min walk to the beach and 10min walk to Paphos Harbour. The owner was kind and friendly. She sent us detailed information in advance and waited for us at the property upon our arrival and showed us around the room. Free private parking on site. The apartment is spacious and clean and well equipped. Kitchen is well equipped with cooking utensils and cutlery. Bedroom is decorated with historical style with a four-pillar bed which is comfortable. Very good price compared to 5 star hotels nearby.
Like nowhere else we’d stayed before. Every wall is either a mural, a mirror or fur! Fun decor. Nice to stay somewhere different and individual. Definitely somewhere I’ll remember. Staff were great. Pool area was really nice, lots of trees and plants made it seem more like a private garden and oasis. Quiet hotel, less rooms than most, made it more relaxing and chilled. Location was good. Walking distance to sea front and harbour, or bars and restaurants of old town paphos are same distance in opposite direction.
The hotel was perfect - it is a bit dated and old fashioned but it is very well maintained and the services offered are better than most 5 star hotels in this country (e.g. espresso machine, 2 sets of beach towels, iron, 24hrs room service etc). The room is larger than most 4 star hotels with decent noise insulation. The outside spaces and gardens are very well maintained, there are good quality sunbeds (which is not often the case) and the pool is great.
Paphos City
Hosts were very responsive and helpful and live in one of the apartments, which is a plus. Nice little apartment with everything required. Undercover parking was free. Comfortable and very clean apartment in small well presented block in a quiet orderly neighborhood. Handy location, 300m walk to large supermarket and other businesses. 15 minute walk to old town. Was good to have Netflix, otherwise very little English language programming on TV in Cyprus.
Chloraka, Paphos City
Everything: hospitality, the place, swimming pool, fantastic sunset view, very comfortable villa itself, you can find everything you need. The fridge was fulfilled by our arrival. Every 2-3 days the owners presented us traditional pies and deserts. It is only 5 min on feet down the road and you will get to small beach. And when you ride the car you can reach Coral bay beach - the best in the area, in 5-7 min. Supermarket Lidl is same 5-7 min by car.
Paphos City
It's a small hotel with only 21 rooms, very nice and quiet. Coral Bay beach is approx 3 km from the hotel, you can go there by bus as well as to Paphos Harbour. There's a good restaurant opposite the hotel and a bar&restaurant with live music nearby. There is also a supermarket within a 500m distance. The hotel staff is helpful and friendly - greetings to Inge. If you want to just chill out the hotel is perfect for you.
Paphos City
Perfect staff ( thank you everything Ritza and Nicos ), cleaning, close to everything ( restaurants->Hondros-best tzatziki and the best jome made tomato soup, Theo taverna-best fresh fishes, See You Beach Bar - beautiful view and nice staff, Kasparis Taverna ->close to the Sandy Beach, Zeus Taverna -close to the Mall, etc. ), beaches, old town, quiet area, and close to a big Lidl ( supermarket ).
The hotel was very affordable. The lobby area and reception was nice and the location is good. If you want to take a taxi to/from the airport I recommend arranging it with the hotel as that is the best price. We ended up overpaying for our taxi from the airport to the hotel by not booking it through the hotel. Breakfast was simple but okay.
Location of the hotel is great, short driving distance to Coral Bay only. The bus station with frequent buses to Coral bay is close by the hotel in case you don't have a car. The hotel itself doesn't have a beach, but you can access the sea with a ladder. Hotel was spotless clean, the staff was friendly and the room was comfortable
Paphos City
- Super helpful reception service. - Clean and cozy pool area. - 15min walk to the Old Town and 15min bus to Harbour area. - Great tour company within 10min walk. The safari jeep tour made is fall in love with Cyprus. - Also, we loved the cats that 'stayed' with us, every morning at our door to greet us. It was sweet. 😉
We stayed in Dionysos Central at the beginning and end of our trip. 3rd floor "sea view room" was very nice. Also the other room with courtyard view was good! Great bed, clean room and the best "hotel breakfast" we had in whole Cyprus.
We stayed in Leonardo Cypria Maris last summer and made a promise to come back again this summer, which we did and enjoyed it very much. We had dinner at the Asian Restaurant which was the best choice & did sauna which was free, too. Excellent hotel!
Chloraka, Paphos City
Great value for money. Definitely not 5 star hotel as they think. Good 3 or even 4 star. Still had a great time, food is not the best but still okay. Hotel itself looks bit dated. But for a good price I definitely would come back.
Absolutely stunning views, honestly they had the best breakfast we’ve had at a hotel in Cyprus (given that we stayed in 4 others throughout our time here), comfortable bed. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.
All was amazing…. Particularly the welcoming and helpful staff, in all areas of the hotel. This was our second visit after our first amazing stay and we were equally impressed!
The location was quite good, especially if you have a car. The hotel also provides parking just a short walk away. The area is quite nice and it has a nice feel.
Paphos City
This place is one of the best hotels I have been in down to the staff and amazing views and the facilities. Definitely will come again.
Yeroskipou, Paphos City
