Lovely clean apartment with a small pleasant balcony. Kitchen was well supplied. Bed very comfortable.. Shower was great. Location excellent. Small handy supermaket very close by with quite a good selection. We were using the train to get around and found the location very convenient for trips up and down the river. Easy to check in.

I loved everything. The owner was friendly and explained everything. The location in a quiet place. Car parking just at the side of the road. The patio for our meals was charming. The kitchen had everything basic we needed to prepare simple meals. Coffee machine was there also. Only thing to complain, is we stayed 2 nights only. Would definitely come again. Bacharach and the vicinity is soo charming, and staying here made our trip memorable.

The village is beautiful. The people are friendly. The river cruise was short, but we already knew that. The whole area was a great setting for exploring both the Rhine valley and the Mosel valley. Their local food and wines are excellent.

Bacharach is truly a hidden gem in Germany.

Bacharach is truly a hidden gem in Germany. I had one day to explore Germany before meeting up with my tour group, and I read Rick Steve's Germany book and he recommended the Rhine Valley. He also recommends Bacharach as a city to set up base in. Bacharach is such an interesting town! So much history, much of the original buildings are still intact and in use. I did the Bacharach historical walk from Rick Steve's book and it took about an hour and a half. So relaxing and enriching. there's also a K-D tour boat that stops in Bacharach so you can travel up and down the Rhine and view sites such as the Lorely,

Much of the town was in a poor state of repair.

Much of the town was in a poor state of repair. One end was livelier, and one place was a joy to be at with great help and a wonderful glass of Portuguese red. Overall, though, not at all to German standards of repair or hospitality. There are better choices.

The area is so walkable.

The area is so walkable. Wish we had more time to do the hop on and off River Cruises. We would have needed to visit on Saturday and Sunday for the hop on and off. The food it outstanding. Everywhere we ate was excellent from the Stuebers Restaurant -up scale food. To casual outdoor dinning at Potshof-Flammkuchen, Cafe Bistro NOY- small intimate cafe traditional Armenia food and best fries in town, Altes Haus -Traditional German- Historical building and Best herbed breaded schnitzel we have ever eaten. If you want to hike there is plenty of that too. You will not regret staying 2 or maybe 3 nights here.

Bacharach is a charming historical half-timbered village...

Bacharach is a charming historical half-timbered village with its own castle, ruins, and remnants of city wall. It’s fun to poke around and is excellently situated for exploring the middle Rhine. It has several very good restaurants. Nightlife and shopping are virtually non-existent and the town is quiet after nine pm.

I first booked two nights and then extended my stay to 4 nights. Kranenturm hotel upgraded my room to a double room on the city side. This was quiet and peaceful and had a lovely view of the castle. Excellent breakfast and real value for money. Beautiful setting.
