The room was on the 6th floor, it was neat and spacious with panoramic windows. The bathroom was also clean. The breakfast in the morning offered a great variety of food. Chemnitz is a place worth visiting to experience the lasting impact of Soviet, effectively Russian-dominated, rule and what Russian imperialism can bring to the places it controls. More than 30 years later, the contrast with western Germany is still remarkable, and it is deeply sad and depressing to see how lasting the damage to the city and its society has been.

A post-industrial city with many nice spots mixed with some...
A post-industrial city with many nice spots mixed with some that are not too attractive. I would say it's the best what former DDR (East Germany) had to offer: very open, modernist city centre with a lot of green areas and good public transport with the worst: boring and ugly Plattenbau. Many refurbished XIX-century industrial buildings and interesting museums are a huge plus too (honorary first place goes to Museum Gunzenhauser). Overall I liked it and maybe will return to the area some day.

We have arrived in the evening and the first impression was not so great, the only site we have seen was a big factory with huge chimneys. Later, once we checked in and went for a walk, we discovered nice pedestrian area next to the hotel. It was quite and clean. However, now restaurants open in the neighborhood although it was only 9PM.

Wanted to come 3years ago, due to Covid was not possible. I was delighted, that Icould come this year and the city fascinated me. A lot of parks, a lot of room between blocks, wide pedestrians, in the evening music everywhere. Fantastic feeling on the Wine Festival, nice. And friendly people in the city. Very good restaurants, great regional food.

Lots of bars in Innere Klosterstraße. There was beer festival during my visit. It was so crowded (in a good way).
Karl-Marx monument (nischel) is marvelous.
You see different residental buildings compared to west Germany.
3 days are enough to explore the city.

Transport was poor.
Transport was poor. Trains going to Chemnitz are from Democratic Republic of Germany, i am not joking .. First Class Coach was like Bangladesh trains quality. City is better then expected, but nothing touristic. I eat Chinese food. It was good.

I stayed here for two nights for work and a local event, and the location was unbeatable. Both destinations were very close by, which made my stay incredibly convenient and stress-free.
The apartment itself was perfect: spacious, very clean, and featured a beautiful modern design. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, which I really appreciated after a long day. Additionally, the kitchen was plenty big enough for my needs. If you’re looking for a comfortable and professional place to stay in Chemnitz, I highly recommend this one!
