For the first time in our lives, we spent the night in a tower room on the third floor of a castle. From there we had a view in three directions. The next day we visited Colditz, which is interesting not only because of the Allied POWs that were held there.

It is super nice place! All flat is yours, easy to find, very helpful and friendly host. Place to park a car. Flat is on the first floor, very clean with well equipped kitchen, big bathroom and sleeping rooms. Very comfortable beds. Nice surrounding and they do not charge for the pets. I was there only for one night but would like to stay longer. Relaxing and very comfortable place.

We went especially to see Colditz Castle.

We went especially to see Colditz Castle. This visit exceeded our expectations. The Histopads really bring the tour to life. Book early if you want a guided tour. Allow at least have a day to fully experience the wealth of history.

This was a brilliant stay.

This was a brilliant stay. The tour of the castle was excellent and the museum interesting. I ate at two restaurants, a Greek one and a traditional German one. They were both delicious meals and the staff were very friendly and helpful. My German is very limited but we managed to communicate. Colditz is tricky to reach by public transport but the buses and trains were all on time.

If you know "The Colditz Story" you will really enjoy this...

If you know "The Colditz Story" you will really enjoy this place. If you don't I suggest you read one of the historical colditz books about the WW2 escapes as then you will get more out of it. Steffi is a wonderful guide, its well worth getting a guided tour, you will much more of the castle..
