The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. The accommodation was in a great location and was perfect for an overnight stay whilst walking the rheinsteig. I wish we had booked an extra night. Breakfast was delicious and filling.

The breakfast included a wide variety of meats, cheeses, a huge basket of freshly baked bread (they have a bakery and the breakfast area is there. Also had fresh fruit, cucumbers, tomatoes real soft h boiled egg . All beautifully presented . The Maase family do a great job , and Mrs Maase is a gracious host . I have stayed here for 26 years , so I know the place well . There is a lounge area with stocked with snacks, beer . Wine etc. very nice back patio and nice sauna.

Large, comfortable room. Nice view over the valley towards a castle (although the Rhine itself is not visible). Attentive hosts. Garage for charging electric bicycles. The restaurant is first-class. The Goswin Lambrich 2019 Cuveé Gowin Trocken red wine was delicious.

The hotel is very well placed, we have a fantastic view of the mointains as well as of the city. This is an hotel with character and an history, but fully renovatived and cosy. Personnel is friendly and attentive. Sandra at the reception gives all attention to details. This was an amazing journey

Everything!!! Location, concept, quality, space, breakfast, bar, terrace, lobby, lockers (big and spacious for large backpacks - bring your lock!), hostel room size and privacy, bathroom... all amenities are there and are good!!! I highly recommend this hotel+hostel. I'd definitely stay again!

Great place for an overnight stay on the way south from the Channel ferry ports. The accommodation was lovely, good value for money and very comfortable. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. The evening meal wasn't cheap, but you certainly get what you pay for. Beautifully prepared and served.

We stayed here 1 night on our way to Switzerland. We loved the hotel. The decor is cosy and warm, the room was beautiful with a great view. Good bed, great shower. Lovely staff. Highly recommended!

Filsen is small rural village on bank of the Rhine

Filsen is small rural village on bank of the Rhine The main road bypasses the village and is lightly trafficked anyway . There is small shop on village centre and 2 large supermarkets 3/4 mins up the road in car or 5/6 on a cycle . Bar/ bistro 2 min walk from Apt . The ferry( pedestrians €2 each way ) is 2 min drive 5 min walk and crosses to Boppard that has numerous shops and cafes/bistros and good to pick up day or half day Rhine boat cruises. 20 k to koblenz one way 30 to rudesheim the other so easy to visit loreley and rest of central Rhine gorge on foot , cycle , road or rail . Train and bus both stop in village with regular services both ways through the day .
