Quiet and accessible location, car parking right outside, 20 minutes from Heidelberg. For a budget hotel it was fine, if basic. Tea and hot water available in reception 24 hours. Good shower.

We had an enormous room (36) with extremely comfortable bed. Breakfast was excellent. Lovely to sit in the garden with a beer and relax after a long drive.

I had really high expectations and the hotel still exceeded them. Absoloutely gorgeous location with amazing views, great service, and lovely rooms. Comfortable bed, good shower, everything you need :)

Friendly people, clean room and nice location

We loved the location atop a hill with beautiful views of Heidelberg & the Neckar River below. The fanicular into town is just 50 meters from the hotel. The room was beautifully arranged with comfy beds and views over the valley. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was very good. The entire staff was very nice & helpful. On-Parking was plentiful. Will definately stay here again during our next visit to Heidelberg.

This hotel is in the very old center of the city (next to funicular station to the castle). Extremely clean, great bedsheets. I've got a room with a shared bathroom (it was very clean too) and inside the room was a basin with tap water which was really helpful (I didn't need to go outside to wash fruits or clean hands). Bed was really comfortable. Building is beautiful. Breakfast was super! I highly recommended this place!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Hotel an Schloss. After a stressful morning of travel arrangements gone awry, it was a relief to catch the lift up to the 7th floor and be welcomed by the gracious manager. Our room, 24, not only had a fantastic view of the castle above, but was extremely quiet, as well as delightfully spacious. We’re a couple, but #24 would also be a great choice for a couple travelling with one child, as the sofa looked like it converted to a sofa bed. The German style continental breakfast was more than generous. The staff were friendly and helpful. We can’t imagine a more perfect base from which to explore the AlteStadt of Heidelberg. Once you emerge from the lift at the ground car park, the Funicular Railway to the castle is literally next door. Amazing! And, when you’re ready to explore the old town, simple walk ahead onto the main pedestrian street, passing by the first of Heidelberg’s many delightful Christmas markets. For dinner, we recommend Papi’s, opposite the barrel market off the mall. And we loved our peddled tour of the town with Philip! A wonderful couple of days, thank you 🙏

The hotel is located in a very central area. From the hotel window, you can look directly onto the city square, and all major historical sites are within walking distance. The rooms are very spacious, and the beds are comfortable. Thank you also for the small gifts provided for each of us — a very thoughtful gesture. The gentleman at the reception (unfortunately, I do not remember his name) was very helpful. Although the breakfast variety was limited, it was still quite filling and enjoyable. Special thanks as well for the additional coffee service during breakfast. For those arriving by car, the hotel has an affiliated parking facility located just a few minutes’ walk away. Do not forget to collect the parking voucher from the reception before picking up your car, as this allows you to benefit from a discounted rate.
