We required a stop over on a drive From Northern Italy (Ortisei) to Brussels.Pforzheim was the mid point. The hotel was good with associated secure parking. We had a good breakfast but did not use the restaurant for the evening meal as it appeared somewhat overpriced for the hotel. We ate in a nearby Greek restaurant. The town sadly was destroyed by bombing in the latter stages of WW2 and apart from a river very little of tourist interest in the centre of the town,
Although I am a bit biased as I originate from there, I find plenty to do in and around Pforzheim. I visited the Schmuck Museum (Jewellery) only Euros 3. Worth seeing. Shopping is quite good, and the bus service is great. You can get a day ticket for Euro 5.50 which is good value and allows you to visit 2 zones. Plenty of eating places, depending on tastes.
A lovely charming city worth visiting. Only 45 mins by train from Karlsruhe. We were lucky to have attended the Wine Festival ( Oechsle Fest) with good regional food & wine, even beer if you wish! A lively bank that got the people dancing & tapping their feet. Lovely restaurants, cafes & shops all over the city centre. Most places of interest can be visited on foot.Don't miss the Schmuckmuseum-a jewellery museum with exquisite collections of jewellery from different time periods.
- Good location to visit nearby landmarks (Stuttgart, Ludwigsburg, etc.) but stay in a calm and peaceful area - Don't miss Restaurant Comedia - TK Maxx in town! - Wonderful forest surrounding - Trout park "Forellenpark Kleinenztal" is a must if you're fishing (30 km South)
Go to the Gasometer to see the latest YADEGAR ASISI exhibition of "Rome in the year 312" - a 360 degree round view. Absolutely spectacular. 1/2 hour on the train to Stuttgart and within easy driving distance of plenty of nature.

We liked that the room and the bsthroom were clean. I mean, REALLY clean, not even the bed sills had dust on them. The sheets were impeccably white, the curtains closed completely to make it totally dark during the night, parking was only 3 Euros per night, WiFi was excellent and the breakfast was well above the average. The staff was extremely friendly and professional, everything was as it should be. BW really sets the bar high for hotels in the mid-price range. Well done!

A solid 3* Hotel. In some places it looks a little bit worn-out but one can see that in the beginning everything was of good quality and therefore still in good shape. The room was very clean with a comfortable bed. All the staff (from receptionist until cleaning lady) were very considerate and friendly. We were there for a wedding and we got a late check-out in order to be able to prepare for it. We didn't have breakfast so I can not review it.

The place itself was very quiet and tidy. Also the staff was super nice and answered my questions immediately and with great precisement. The prebooked garage (which is located behind the hotel) was open to enter on arrival time.

The lady receptionist was very helpful with where we could walk and cycle and where we could eat. The breakfast, with a cooked option, was the best we have had in Germany so far.
