It's a fabulous hotel in a beautiful and very peaceful waterfront location. The room was very comfortable, tastefully decorated, and clean. Food in a hotel restaurant was amazing, great choice, including vegetarian and vegan options. Staff was attentive and helpful. I would definitely stay again.

Had a layover here on our way to the west. Perfect little room with a comfortable bed and brilliant amenities, what more could you ask in that situation? The lady taking care of the place and cooking us with an excellent breakfast had a lovely personality as well. Would love to visit again.

Schleswig is one of north Europe's oldest cities, located at the end of Germany's only Fiord, the Schlei. During the Time of the Vikings Haithabu ,which is south of Schleswig, was the largest trading center of northern Europe. After the destruction of Haithabu in 1100 AD, Schleswig developed into the capital city of Schleswig-Holstein for a time. Kiel is the Capital at this time. Schleswig, a small city of a population of only 24,000 has a lot to offer. Schloss Gottorf is one of the nicest and interesting museums in Schleswig Holstein, The Viking Museum on the south side if the Schlei in Haddeby, and just north of the old Viking trading center Haithabu. The St. Petri Cathederal was started in 948 AD and was enlarged in 1134 AD. The 112 meter High tower was added between 1888 and 1894. The famous Bordesholmer Altar which is carved from Oak by Hans Brueggemann is in this beautiful Cathederal sice 1666. just south of the Cathederal is the old Fisher village the Holm with its wonderful fisher houses from the 1800 hundreds build in a circle around the villages cemetary. Next to the Holm to the east is the St. Johannis Kloister from 1194 AD. The City Museum is in the southern part of Schleswig, the Friedrichsberg, is also worthwhile a visit.

Little town, but I found a nice restaurant for the dinner: there are some different kind of restaurants, more cozy and some cheaper. Unfortunately I didn't have much time to see the sights of great history of the more than 1200 years old viking town. That I want to do next time.

I love Schleswig and have been here many times to visit...

I love Schleswig and have been here many times to visit family. It is not too big and not too small, with a lovely waterfront, beautiful cobblestone squares, the ancient fishing village of Holm, the historic Schloss Gottorf (castle), and - very near to where we are - the beautiful St Petri Dom, a huge old church whose spires overlook most of the city . Schleswig also has easy access to Kiel, Luebeck, and even Hamburg, by train.

Ich denke es ist wie bei vielen Orten,entweder man mag sie,man verliebt sich in all die wunderschönen Facetten dieser Stadt oder es passt überhaupt nicht.Persönlich habe ich schon vor dem Tag der Abreise alles vermisst und wünscht mir mehr Zeit an diesem wünderschönen Ort.Beim nächsten Mal würde ich mich mehr trauen,gleich die Menschen hier anzusprechen,um diese mit ihrer Stadt näher kennenzulernen und auf deren Empfehlung zu höhren,bezüglich des Vorschlags wegen dem Essen.

We had a room in the Annex - very new, clean and well equipped. Although the hotel reception was not open for our arrival on the Sunday, the arrangements they had made for us to obtain access to our room were clear and perfectly acceptable. Excellent breakfasts and helpful staff. Well located for the city and cathedral. Public transport connections with the rail station are good, as the bus station is practically opposite the hotel.

Quartier 36 is in the town of Schleswig near to the centre where there are plenty of restaurants, bars and shops to enjoy. There is private free secure parking next to the accommodation and before we arrived we received all the required information regarding parking, check in, and everything else to make our stay enjoyable. We had a very comfortable nights sleep and would definitely stay here again when we are next in the area
