staff was awesome. they asked how come we made such a quick/impulse booking and when they found out about previous negative experience we were treated extra well. big kudos to them!!! breakfast was awesome, a bit crowded but super nice view from the restaurant. lounge area was great too with bonfire, board games, table tennis, pool etc. we even got 2 free drinks tickets since we were asked to wait for a couple of minutes. overall, great value for the money! we found free parking spots, although it was quiet crowded. we did not have time or interest in trying out other facilities such as pools etc. but at least could see there were plenty to choose from.

Really charming little town.

Really charming little town. They have created a nice walking tour of historical points. Helsingor Castle is interesting and well presented. Good food. A local person recommended lunch at Radmand Davids Hus for open faced sandwiches and they were delish! Dinner at Restaurant Strejf was also very good. We lucked into the 600th anniversary of the town - low key but nice celebration. Very walkable. Excellent train service to CPH. We had been hearing how overly expensive Denmark is, but that was not our experience. A bit more pricy than Toronto, but not unbearable.

Helsingor is an adorable town an hour north of Copenhagen.

Helsingor is an adorable town an hour north of Copenhagen. I don't know that I'd have ever thought to go there but my son decided to get married there. It was an ideal meeting place for both families as his wife is from Germany. There are lots of lovely shops and restaurants and the ferry to Sweden is super easy to catch. We enjoyed our short stay. :)

Historic buildings extremely interesting, nice architectural design of the town, close location to many potential places worth sightseeing. A little bit too poor availability of restaurants, in particular on weekends. Very unfortunate system of payment for parking lots in town, complicated in operation and not always working. Personally I was very displeased with necessity to install mobile apps.

Helsingør is a lovely town with beautiful medieval buildings...

Helsingør is a lovely town with beautiful medieval buildings, lots of nice shops, cafes and restaurants. It's by the sea, so has it's own beach, a large castle, museums, bike hire, a cultural centre and it's very quick and easy to go to Copenhagen by train, or to Helsingborg by ferry, or to visit some of the nearbypretty coastal villages by bus or train.

It was easy to walk to all the sites and there was a lot...

It was easy to walk to all the sites and there was a lot that interested us. We visited for two days in mid-December. If we were there longer in warmer weather, we would explore more nearby places. This would be easy because of the train and ferry in town. We enjoyed the shops and restaurants. On another visit, we would go to the castle earlier in the day. There were things we weren’t able to do because our tour was too close to closing time. Helsingor is a ninety minute train ride from Copenhagen. You can get off the train north of Copenhagen and take the metro directly to the airport.

I am from Brazil and I would like to move straight there. I love the Viking vibe, the city is extremely clean, the city is beautiful, the churches and castles are wonderful, the food is extremely delicious despite being simple, everywhere I went I can say that I had the best dish I've ever eaten, chocolate Hot, the tastiest I've ever had and even a simple burger at a restaurant called BBQ was the best I've ever had … and even being lucky enough to see snow for the first time, it was magical

I had a lovely welcome at this friendly, cosy hotel. The location is excellent, very close to the train station and in the centre of town, and my room had a lovely view of the old rooftops. I was very happy with my single room and actually decided to extend my stay because there was such a nice atmosphere. Spacious bedroom and bathroom, great shower, lovely big window and quiet at night. A lot of hotels feel quite clinical these days, but this place has a soul. I would definitely stay here again!

The space, the design of the building, all of the artwork to look at, friendly staff, the location...being so close to nature and the sea...there's so much to explore...and the delicious breakfast buffet! For public transport there is the 353 bus to get to and from Helsingør and you can take the local train from Højstrup station which is close by, and from here you can get further along the coast to Gilleleje and other seaside towns.
