Very beautiful and quiet place. It is recommended to go on weekdays to fully enjoy the peace and beauty. There are many beautiful restaurants in the Old Town with local dishes. Beautiful walking areas and a family-friendly city with children.
Kuressaare is a small but really lovely city to spend a day or a few. Even though we explored all the Saaremaa, but we stayed in Kuressaare and enjoyed little cafes and restaurants for dinner. It's cool, that you can have a little walk around the city, then spend a cozy evening in one of the restaurants and in the end see the sunset near the sea in Kuressare beach and do it in just a matter of an hour, as the city is rather small and you can reach everything really quickly.
Kuressaare was a quaint and picturesque town. We very much enjoyed the promenade along the water and the old, wooden houses. We ate dinner at Taxi Pub - cheap and tasty, very typical Estonian food, but our two teenage sons said the portions were too small! :) We visited the castle/museum - it contained many interesting exhibits, a cafe and roof top viewing platform. Just beyond the castle is the city/public beach with changing cabins and WC. We were very pleasantly surprised by this little gem of a town.
Kuressaare is a wonderful, relatively small town. The castle is extremely picturesque, the seaside is close by, and there is a nice range of small cafes and shops in the old town part. It is also good to combine visit of Kuressaare with some longer car trips around Saaremaa/Muhu - the nature and seaside views are amazing, and the locals are most friendly.
Largest town of Saaremaa and good base for sightseeing the island. Good selection of nice restaurants. Lots of small parks for kids to play. Just outside the town center there is a shopping center covering all basic needs. BIshop's castle is worth the visit. Positively quiet place for just relaxing
Kuressaare is a picturescue seafront small-town with its own medeival castle :) There are nice restaurants, spaas and even a few night club wating you there. Nice atmosphere for a few-day-break or even for longer stay.
