Between lush hills and undulating coastline, Gijón is the largest Asturias city. Its oldest part covers a peninsula with the modern Elogio del Horizonte sculpture at its green tip. The Atlantic Botanical Gardens were the first in northern Spain, and sit opposite the impressive buildings of Laboral University’s Viesques campus.
