The birthplace of Picasso is as colourful as an artist’s palette, from the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea to the golden sun, which gives 300 days of sunshine per year. When the sun sets, the vibrant nightlife awakens and you’ll find your place amongst the youthful square of the old centre, the trendy bars of La Malagueta or on one of the terraces of Pedregalejo.
There's also rich history underneath the sun and fun. Alcazaba is a Moorish castle from the 11th century and just next to it are the remnants of a Roman Theatre. The white stone tower of the Malaga Cathedral rises up in the heart of the city centre, and offers an interesting respite from sun bathing on the magnificent and popular beaches.
A more modern history can be appreciated by visiting the birthplace of Picasso and a museum full of exhibitions by Malaga’s most famous resident. A more relaxed Spanish city than Madrid and Barcelona, Malaga is still the gateway to the Costa del Sol and the busy Malaga Airport is only 10 km from the centre of town.
From budget hostels to 5-star luxury hotels, with Booking.com you’re sure to find the perfect accommodation for your sunny holiday.

Too crowded already and prices are increasing exponentially over the years. I couldn't even put my towel in some Nerja's beach. I totally recommend going to Almeria. Less tourists, less crowds, better prices and tastier food: real one.

During my stay in Malaga, I was captivated by the perfect blend of rich history, stunning beaches, and vibrant culture. The historic center, with its narrow, winding streets, is a delight to explore, especially around the Alcazaba and the impressive Gibralfaro Castle, which offers breathtaking views of the city and the Mediterranean. The Picasso Museum was a highlight, showcasing an extensive collection of the artist’s works. The local cuisine, particularly the fresh seafood and tapas, was simply irresistible. I enjoyed leisurely walks along the palm-lined promenade and sunbathing on the beautiful Malagueta Beach. The friendly locals and the warm, welcoming atmosphere made my visit truly unforgettable.

The city is buzzing till the morning and there is entertainment to everyone's taste. Plenty of bars and restaurants where to eat tapas or full meals.
The Malagueta Beach is the closest to the city centre however not far from the city centre there are many kilometres of sandy beaches.
The C1 city train line will take you in a short time to many other beaches. This is also the quickest way to go to the airport in just 10 minutes and for less than 1.5 euros.
The city is also well prepared for cyclists and scooter users with dedicated lanes.
If the train does not take you were you want to go the Buses definitely will (leaving from near the Harbour).
I would recommend visiting the town of Nerja, Torremolinos, Frigiliana Mijas. White houses villages full of character and delicious food.
Malaga province is huge and can offer food variety, Entertainment (ride parks), Night life, beach life as well a window to Andalusia.
Trains by National Rail from the Maria Zambrano station will take you to Seville, Granada and Cordova and many other destinations (inc Madrid in less than 3 hrs direct) with connections.

The apartment is situated at the centre of Malaga.
The apartment is situated at the centre of Malaga. Many cafes and restaurants nearby and a Carrefour express is just around the corner. The apartment is clean and comfortable. Just need an extra single sofa as not enough to seat comfortably for a group of 5 and above. Will definitely book here again if we visit Malaga. Only 2 rooms are air conditioned but not the smaller room. But it won’t stop me from booking this apartment again.

I found Malaga's old city to be very attractive and easy to navigate. My first move was to check in with the tourist office for advice on a one-day stay. They could not have been more helpful and worked out an itinerary which included the Picasso Museum (he was born there!). If you're looking for a place for a snack or light meal go around the back of the Tourist Office in an alley way. The restaurant covers both sides of the street. Everything so delicious and reasonable with friendly staff.

Great for foodies, shopping and museums.
Great for foodies, shopping and museums. There is something for everybody here. Lots of different types of restaurants including tapas bars. Fantastic shopping that is easy to get around. Very close to the beaches if you want to change up the day. Malaga has a great cathedral, picasso museum and lots to do. My wife and I were very surprised and will be back again!
It is a beautiful apartment. Better in real life than in the photos. All rooms have air conditioning and the apartment is centrally located near Malaga attractions. An easy 15 minute walk to the beach, 10 minutes to the airport bus and less than 10 minutes to the old town.
Friendly hosts and the apartment was extremely clean and had amenities like washing machine, washing lines, and cooking equipment if needed. The host provided us with some initial water, juices and Nespresso coffee :)
The hotel is in a great location on the edge of the old town with lots of bars, restaurants, and shops nearby. It is close to the main tourist sites and a short (15 minute) walk to the beach. The Malaga Maria-Zambrano train station is a 15-20 minute walk away, making the location convenient for arrival/departure and day trips.
The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-equipped. The staff were helpful and were able to pre-book an airport taxi for us for our early morning flight home.
Excellent location in the old town of Malaga, any number of coffee shops, tapas bars/restaurants nearby as well as very good on site facilities. Hotel is clean and comfortable and we found our room quiet during the night. Very nice swimming pool on the rooftop.
The staff were very friendly on arrival and even upgraded us which was very kind and appreciated. We just came to Malaga for the weekend and the location of the hotel was absolutely ideal, close to the airport, short walk to old town and the marina.
