Malaga is a concrete jungle. In the tourist areas it seems that they only want your money, we were refused use of an establishment's toilet because we only had soft drinks! Queue for the cathedral, then you had to pay, and it's not even very interesting inside. If you are a catholic and want to attend mass forget it, security will turn you away if they consider you to be not "local", really, check the reviews! If it rains the tiled pavements become very slippery. When it rains the drains stink. In other bars and cafes you do not feel welcome as a visitor, attempting Spanish often gets you blank looks or a curt response. Having sat down in a cafe a waitress tapped her finger on a marker with a QR code on and said "Menu" then walked away. The QR code did not work. Heaven help you if you don't have a smart phone. One jewel we found was Casa Ovi, a very nice local restaurant, great staff, good atmosphere. And good food. The subway is excellent. Vey easy to use. We even had an employee of the metro come and explain to us the intricacies of the ticketing machines and the best and cheapest way to travel.
Very clean city with very tourist centered focus giving the visitor a very pleasant experience, i would highly recommend a visit as I was very much surprised by my first visit to this wonderful city, i will be returning to the city of baloney's.
Great location to visit the coast in both directions. Wonderful, vibrant city which is fun to shop and eat out in. I can highly recommend the taste of Malaga food tour. A unique insight into interesting places to eat and the history of the city. The market is vibrant and very attractive and the beach great too.
The city is absolutely perfect. Whether you're after local cuisine, interesting culinary fusions, British-style pubs, architecture, art, beach life or medieval history - Malaga has it all. Be sure to catch day trips to Granada and Cordoba too!
Great historic centre that surprised me. Really enjoyed it. The Alcazabar and Castillo de Gibrafaro were hidden gems. If we had more time we would have explored the beaches more and maybe taken in some hiking. Trains are excellent so you could visit other areas while based in Malaga. We intend to do this in Seville. No end of options for eating and drinking. We took a taxi from the airport but the train station was an easy walk, even with luggage, from the historic centre.
Malaga is a city that seems to be often overlooked as a place to stay. It is well worth more than just passing through. It is easy to find your way around, plenty of places to eat & plenty of things to see. There are museums, art galleries, nice shops & a very good promenade along the harbour front which is always full of life.
I liked the fact it was on the beach. The pool was super clean. There's also a beautiful walk down the promenade to a nature reserve (about a 10 minute walk). If you like bird watching it's a must. From there you can cross over and get an uber to Malaga old town. Our view from the balcony was lateral sea view - the sunset in the evening was beautiful. There's plenty to do and entertainment is laid on by the hotel. Breakfast is great and the breakfast room view is fabulous.
Good location in the sense that it is away from the crowds and noise of the old town, the beach and the sea are across the road from the hotel (just cross a wide 8 lanes boulevard). The hotel is well maintained, modern and minimalist style. The room is well furnished, tasteful interior design, very comfortable bed, good pillows, clean bathroom, cleaning staff does their job well. Breakfast is good, not very varied and the same every day (we stayed 5 days and nothing changed).
Perfect:location - 5min by car to Airport and all the car rentals, 25min by foot to the beach - so we managed to spend a half of our last day in Malaga swimming, having a dinner in one of nice restaurants nearby , and there was no need to go to the city center. But if someone needs to - public transportation will help. They even have small free Parking, if there will be no place - 6eur/day in an underground parking. We can absolutely recommend staying in the hotel!
This hotel is wonderully located - just in the centre of Malaga, a walking distence to Old Town, port, beach etc. The hotels' design is uniquelly pretty and up to date. The rooms are super comfortable and sound proof. I especially liked the small yet meaningfull details like bathrobes, cosmetics provided and a free-standing bathtub that gives you an opportunity to overlook the port and sea while actually taking a bath! Well done!
Fantastic hilltop location overlooking Malaga - views from Restaurant superb - Nice grounds and pool area too. Seating in communal areas was very good and overall relaxed feel. We had a really nice evening meal here and not excessively priced. The hotel is close to the Castillo of malaga and there is a well maintained path down to the old town - it's a good walk back up too, though you could taxi it if needed.
Malaga Centro, Málaga
I stayed here at the start and end of my recent holiday to Spain. Easy to get to from the Airport - 10 minute train journey and 10minute walk from the station. Both apartments I stayed in were spotlessly clean and had everything I needed for a few days stay in Malaga. Few minutes walk into the old town so perfect location for exploring. Would happily stay here again and recommend to friends. Thanks
Great hotel, perfectly located close to the old town (so many shops and restaurants nearby) and the see and promenade as well. The rooftop pool is small but good enough to cool yourself while sunbathing on the rooftop terrace. The staff is also really nice and helpful. We'd definitely stay there again in Malaga and would also try out other Room Mate hotels in other locations.
This is by far the nicest hotel in Malaga. From the moment you walk in the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We were given a beautiful Moroccan style bedroom on the side which was lovely and quiet. The view was a bit restrictive but that didn’t matter. The cleaning staff were wonderful. A true 5 star hotel right next to the old town and overlooking the beach.
Nice place, clean, confortable, good shower, quiet enough; good location, very close to the train to the airport, one block away practically. There is a big and nice supermarket downstairs, also close by to the Corte ingles, a really nice department store. Great breakfast and friendly personnel. Good value, O will stay at this hotel again if I visit Malaga again.
Malaga Centro, Málaga
the place is in the city center of Malaga at perfect location, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the place is clean. I was a little bit concerned about not having a reception during the check in and check out, but the check-in and checkout was easy and the hotel helped book a taxi on my way to the airport. I definitely recommend Malaga Botique.
Everything went well: the staff was professional and yet made us feel like family; the breakfast was wonderful; the room was comfortable & clean; the location was central and made exploring Old Town a breeze. We will definitely recommend it to anyone that asks and will stay here on our next visit to Malaga. PERFECTO!!
A location is ok. Easy access from the airport by bus A (no need for taxi), it costs 4 Euro per person. Few restaurants in the neighborhood. Good breakfast with many options. A bus stop in front of the hotel to old town and it costs 1.80 Euro one way. A grocery store 5 min to walk. Strong, good working A/C.
It is perfectly located for walking in the old town while being easily accessible by rental car in the hotel's own garage. The room was large and had a separate seating area. The breakfast was great! The rooftop with bar and restaurant was great for relaxation and getting some tan.
Malaga Centro, Málaga
Perfect location overlooking Malagueta beach and within easy walking distance of the old town of Malaga and its many restaurants and bars The bus stop for the airport is an easy 5 minute walk The apartment itself was well equiped with everything we needed.
The location is great, near the Malaga port and old town center. Breakfast is really nice, beds are very comfortable and the room size is just perfect. Very clean hotel with great staff.
Great location for the old town of malaga and the port. The hotel in general, the room and especially the public toilet were spotless.
Beautiful boutique hotel perfectly situated within Malaga old town. I will definitely stay again.
Lovely clean quite hotel within a stones throw of old town Malaga centre. Polite efficient staff
