Hotel Tallukka is located in the peaceful Finnish Lake District town of Vääksy, 12 mi from Lahti. It offers lake view rooms and an indoor pool, hot tub, sauna and salt room. Very beautiful location, with lake view on both sides of the building. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The breakfast hall has a great view too.

Salonsaaren Lomakylä is set in Asikkala in the Southern Finland Region. Lahti is 17 mi away. The property has a private beach area and free use of bicycles is available. The location is beautiful and quiet. Very peaceful. Even the lowest cost accommodations (the basic "Moikki" cabins, where we stayed) are very well equipped with plenty of power ports for your stuff, a small kitchenette, and more. The wifi is basic but reliable. Because there was no food service on-site ( we visited off season, and because of the world's "health" problem) the host did recommend to us the best restaurant in town "Ravintola Jalmar." They are only open for lunch, so plan accordingly. He was right about the Ravintola! The staff and host were extremely helpful and friendly, and they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and that our needs were met. There are some electric scooters (a hoot to ride!) available to rent on-site for only 10 euro (2 hours) which is plenty of time to ride into town and back for whatever "supplies" you may need, or to get lunch at the Ravintola. Also highly recommend the two saunas (one electric, one "traditional" wood fired) available on-site. Refreshed is not a strong enough word to describe how you will feel after a sauna and a quick jump in the clear, pure (COLD) lake. You will feel like a "real Finn" after your sauna . . . and in a way, you will be. This location is worth a day trip visit for the saunas alone. All the prices are beyond fair and reasonable, and the staff will do everything in their power to ensure that you enjoy your visit. Keep in mind this is a "rustic" resort (it doesn't pretend to be anything else) so set your expectations accordingly, and you will find them exceeded by miles. This is a lakeside camping resort in the woods, far away from the hustle of the city. It's MEANT to bring you close to the beautiful nature that is all around you, and it does exactly that!
