Location already in the forest. Castle feeling as in the pictures. Enthusiastic and kind staff with cute baby and dog. Flexibility about our arrival complicated by a train delay because of which we could not take the rental car we had reserved in Strasbourg. The Uber ride from Strasbourg main station to the place cost only 52 euros, both on the way there and back, in spite of covering 40 kms. Apparently, it is somehow a fixed price.

I would sincerely recommend Barr as an authentic destination...

I would sincerely recommend Barr as an authentic destination along the Alsace Wine Route. Barr has a lot to offer — beautiful scenery, high-class restaurants, at least two dozen wine producers within walking distance who offer wine tastings, and a good train connection to Strasbourg. For me, Barr is a hidden gem at the northern end of the Wine Route.

Barr is an idyllic quiet town surrounded by gorgeous...

Barr is an idyllic quiet town surrounded by gorgeous vineyards. It is very walkable and has regular trains passing through. Everyone was very friendly and even though I didn’t speak French, I got around with gestures and smiles. We went to Mt San Odile which was gorgeous and stopped at a winery to purchase local white wines. Definitely consider Barr if you are visiting Alsace

This is a great apartment to stay in - very clean and a great location for exploring Barr and the surrounding area. The host was there to meet us and showed us around the place which was very useful. The apartment was well equipped for our baby with a proper comfortable cot and high chair. Would definitely recommend!!
