Quiet location among vineyards, and at the same time very close to the centre of the Alsatian village (5 mins on foot). Everything is new and fresh. The bed is very comfortable. The room convenient and nicely designed. The staff super nice and helpful.

FAQs about hotels in Alsace

A Mouthful of History, Architecture and Food

One of the most important regions in the European Union because of its number of international organisations, Alsace is also the smallest region in mainland France. Stretched along the upper Rhine, this is an area of tumultuous history, great architecture and distinctive cuisine.

The Alsace capital, Strasbourg, features one of the most beautiful European cathedrals and a very photogenic Old Town with cobbled streets and half-timbered townhouses. You can find picturesque castles, villages and churches all around this petite region.

But Alsace is not just known for its man-made structures. It also boasts the low, densely forested Vosges Mountains with glacial lakes, great hiking trails and charming waterfalls. Not to mention its vineyards and the famous Alsatian Vineyard Route, stretching from Wissembourg to Thann and incorporating 67 towns and villages.

A visit to the region wouldn’t be complete without trying some of the famous Alsatian cuisine. Said to be the birthplace of sauerkraut, this is one of the best places to try tarte flambée, a delicious creation of onion, bacon and crème fraiche.

Whether you opt for one of the hotels de charme in Alsace, a stylish apartment or a friendly B&B, Booking.com has a great range on offer 24/7!

Every thing! We went for a spa weekend with our french bulldog (which sleeps a lot) and everything was perfect. The room was comfortable with enough space to walk around, the bathroom was very warm. This room was a little outdated but very charming. The spa facilities are definitely high standards, 2 different sauna, a hamman, a pool with jacuzzi space, everything is made to relax. The restaurant was also great, food was qualitative and servings a good size. The staff were very nice, helpful and friendly. Special ++ for the delicious easter cake on the door step on the Sunday morning!

Most interesting and scenic historic city, with many interesting areas, buildings and attractions. The Petite France district is justly famous, but other districts also offer different historical perspectives and appeal. The centre is easily walkable, but there are efficient trams and charming boat-trips for further afield.

The town went through some renovations and particularly the area around the station (except the platforms) looks - the park, the canals. There is no luggage storage at this major station, but nearby hotel offers luggage storage using online prepaid method through couple of available apps/websites (overpriced though). The public transport works pretty well. There is not much to look in the "old town", it does not have many charming streets left (compared e.g. to Colmar, or even Belfort), a lot of architecture mixture with mid-20th century vibe. The Cite du Train is really worth visiting though.

Eguisheim is one of several quaint, fairy tale villages in Alsace. It's smaller than most of the others but that's what I liked about it. A few very good restaurants. Timothy's brewery owned by a couple with French and American ties, great folks and great beer - a must-visit. Village was laid out back in the day in a circular manner with two "ramparts", fun to just stroll around the outskirts, particularly in the evenings after the crowds have left. You won't find any lively nightlife if that's what you're after but that's ok by me.

I had a very pleasant stay in Saint-Louis.

I had a very pleasant stay in Saint-Louis. The apartment on Rue de Michelfelden is in a quiet and convenient area, very close to the Swiss border and Basel, which makes it perfect for travelers visiting the tri-country region of France, Switzerland, and Germany. The neighborhood is peaceful and well located, with supermarkets, bakeries, and transport nearby. Saint-Louis itself is a charming town in Alsace, known for its excellent location near Basel and the EuroAirport, making it easy to travel around the region. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and well organized, ideal for a short stay. Check-in was smooth and everything was easy to access. Overall, it was a very convenient and pleasant place to stay, and I would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Saint-Louis or Basel.

The town of Obernai was the discovery of this trip to France. It is a charming place with beautiful buildings, many restaurants and shops, art galleries, friendly, helpful people and organized entertainment. We could walk everywhere and had no need to use our car. Strasbourg is just a short train ride away to see what it offered. Staying in Obernai, we never felt crowded by large volumes of visitors as we did in Strasbourg. Obernai is in the heart of the Alsace Riesling producing region. A visit to Obernai on your next trip in France is highly recommended.

I stopped in Sausheim as a mid-point during a road trip from Italy to the UK. It was just a brief overnight stay, and in the evening I went out to grab a kebab. I didn’t really have the chance to explore the town, so I honestly can’t say much about it. It served its purpose as a convenient stopover.
