We adored the cozy atmosphere and the unbeatable location in the city. We love that breakfast buffet comes with local products only as we believe in supporting the local community whenever this is possible. The staff is incredibly nice and welcoming, they made us feel like we really belonged there and were a part of the family. On top of this, we could feel that even the local community loves visiting Leonor for lunch or simply evening drinks in the bar which is amazing and made us feel good about choosing this hotel. We couldn’t praise this boutique property more! We would be back in a heartbeat.

Our stay at this hotel was truly outstanding! The location is fantastic – right next to the main train station and just a short walk from the center of Strasbourg, which meant we never had to use a taxi or public transportation. The hotel staff deserves special praise; everyone was incredibly friendly, helpful, and always smiling, which created a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Our room was impeccably clean, reflecting the hotel’s high standards of cleanliness overall. The room’s modern design included all the essentials – a hair dryer, coffee, tea, bottled water, and more. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and although we stayed on the first floor facing the street, it was very quiet; we had an excellent night’s sleep with no noise from outside. Everything was perfect, and we would absolutely stay here again or recommend this hotel to friends and family.

FAQs about hotels in Alsace

A Mouthful of History, Architecture and Food

One of the most important regions in the European Union because of its number of international organisations, Alsace is also the smallest region in mainland France. Stretched along the upper Rhine, this is an area of tumultuous history, great architecture and distinctive cuisine.

The Alsace capital, Strasbourg, features one of the most beautiful European cathedrals and a very photogenic Old Town with cobbled streets and half-timbered townhouses. You can find picturesque castles, villages and churches all around this petite region.

But Alsace is not just known for its man-made structures. It also boasts the low, densely forested Vosges Mountains with glacial lakes, great hiking trails and charming waterfalls. Not to mention its vineyards and the famous Alsatian Vineyard Route, stretching from Wissembourg to Thann and incorporating 67 towns and villages.

A visit to the region wouldn’t be complete without trying some of the famous Alsatian cuisine. Said to be the birthplace of sauerkraut, this is one of the best places to try tarte flambée, a delicious creation of onion, bacon and crème fraiche.

Whether you opt for one of the hotels de charme in Alsace, a stylish apartment or a friendly B&B, Booking.com has a great range on offer 24/7!

Every thing! We went for a spa weekend with our french bulldog (which sleeps a lot) and everything was perfect. The room was comfortable with enough space to walk around, the bathroom was very warm. This room was a little outdated but very charming. The spa facilities are definitely high standards, 2 different sauna, a hamman, a pool with jacuzzi space, everything is made to relax. The restaurant was also great, food was qualitative and servings a good size. The staff were very nice, helpful and friendly. Special ++ for the delicious easter cake on the door step on the Sunday morning!

Sympathetic modernisation, excellent room , pleasant view. Unfortunately like many hotels nowadays they have yet to improve their in room tv’ s and satellite. Good sized tv but although it said “smart” it did not support apps such as Netflix, Prime or Paramount. Which I can access with id/password anywhere. Luckily I could on my laptop.

I've now visited in both summer and winter, I would say that summer is when the city is most beautiful. In the winter the Christmas markets are the main attraction, they are huge and very nicely presented. We spent a full weekend at the markets and shops in the city, there are a lot of great shops for clothing and homewares. It is not my favourite city in France, it is small and doesn't have the natural beauty that others do. It can feel a little run down in some places, but overall the medieval buildings give it charm. I have been able to get there by train all the way from London both times very comfortably, French trains are superb! I would recommend visiting Europa Park theme park as a day-trip, it is fantastic and my main reason for visiting Strasbourg in the first place.

Colmar is quite an interesting town.

Colmar is quite an interesting town. However, be aware that due to the large influx of people coming to Colmar for the Christmas festival in December, a major part of the city shuts down in January. Half or more of all restaurants, shops, and museums are closed for the entire month of January, a fact I did not know when I booked my trip. However, with that said, we managed to find plenty to do, and found some really excellent restaurants that were still open. But, if you are looking for a lively scene, January is not the month to visit. Much enjoyed O'Rabbits Irish Pub, one of the few restaurants that was open during our stay.

Breakfast was fantastic and all staff very kind and helpful. The room was disappointing. I’ve stayed here several times and it’s gradually gone downhill. This time there were no coat hangers and only one towel per person. The location is good and the covered parking a bonus- especially in winter but rooms really need a makeover.

We were pleasantly surprised by our stay, especially for the price. The rooms were nice, clean, and spacious enough, with the added convenience of parking and being super close to the tram. A lovely city for a short break. Our hotel was great right in the heart of the old city. Easy to get around, good shops, plenty to do. The food was excellent and the local people were all very helpful and friendly. Perhaps not the liveliest place but for a refreshing Christmas/New Year’ break it was atmospheric and charming. We loved the museum of modern art, walking around Petite France, and along the river
