FranceThe standard double room we had had a great corner location overlooking the town square. Love the small seats you can use for reading... The room is very clean and cozy. The breakfast is amazing there was a decent selection and everything tasted great. The ambiance in the breakfast hall is very good. There is also a private hotel parking with chargers for electric cars. The stations for the free buses going to the chateau and the train station are in front of the hotel.

One comes to Chantilly for many reasons, the first is why I...
One comes to Chantilly for many reasons, the first is why I visited, for the Chateau de Chantilly. Its collection is world famous. Shocking masterpieces from the Italian Renaissance, many of the greatest masters, and 16th century stained glass windows. Displays of mid 18th century Chantilly soft paste porcelains, also the somewhat horrid taste for hunting prevalent with the rich. Many hunt scenes with dogs, wild animals and well, you get the picture. Others come for the horses, and polo . I think many come to walk in the parks. And one must visit Senlis, a 15 minute bus ride , get off at Ecole/Notre Dame and you're in Gothic France, and visit St. Pierre cjurch, hopefully open for an art exhibtion. Lots of walking around..

Great place to visit - calm and not always felt particularly touristy. The Potager Des Princes Garden is an absolute must - thoroughly enjoyable, exceeded my expectations and a hidden gem, great for kids too with the menagerie. Good location to have one or two day trips into Paris (note there is a fast train (25 mins) and a slower regional train (45 mins) you can choose from). Some great places to eat or stop and have a drink. Just a tip - I'd not take the local bus timetable as gospel!

Pleasant and clean small town.
Pleasant and clean small town. The chateau is beautiful and an easy walk from the town. A bus from the station but just an hourly timetable. Buses and rail station easily accessible to Paris. We went to Senlis by bus, lovely medaevil town. Lots of cobble streets.

The magnificent Chateau and grounds, the classic Racecourse...
The magnificent Chateau and grounds, the classic Racecourse and beautiful horse museum are the features of this town, so visitors probably need to be fans of history, architecture and horseracing.These are set on the edge of a forest.There are ample eateries in the town with fair quality and reasonable prices. The racecourse Panoramic Restaurant at the top of the main grandstand provides superb views and decent food/wines-- open every race day.The lace museum isn't often open and the cultural centre only just about qualifies for such a description. Getting around on foot is feasible, though it's a good mile from the town centre to the Chateau, and further for forest walks.

The town is very walkable.
The restaurant I went to on the Friday of my trip La Villa was not as good as I hoped. I felt it was overpriced for what I had (which was a simple steak) but maybe my expectations were too high.

You need some time to enjoy Chantilly.
You need some time to enjoy Chantilly. The town itself is dominated by the racecourse but there is some much else to see and admire. You get bored then it is well served by a 25minute train into Paris.
Surrounded by forests with bike hire available. Visit Yucca for a great and relaxed evening meal washed down with a great Chablis!

We stayed here in a beautiful historic area that’s not far from Paris, which makes it a great base for exploring the region. The location is one of the hotel’s strongest assets.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hygiene level is high. The room and common areas felt clean and well maintained.
The beds and pillows are comfortable, and we had a good night’s rest overall.

Beautifully appointed, charming, self catering one bedroomed apartment with great kitchen, spacious lounge and good bathroom. Overlooks courtyard and surrounding village. Charming family run hotel of the kind increasingly rare. Here you are not a number in a spreadsheet but a person..The welcome is personal and it is real. Quiet, though right in the centre. Staff endlessly helpful. Much of the food is locally sourced and home made. Come here, you won't be disappointed!

Beautiful rustic annex to the farm house, very peaceful down a side road from central Chantilly (about 15mins walk to town centre). Beautiful outdoor pool and lovely homemade farmhouse breakfast. Very welcoming hosts.
