The hotel Marboré is located in the remote village of Gavarnie, in the heart of the Pyrénées National Park. Each guest room has a private bathroom, TV and free Wi-Fi. Room 209 has the absolute best views of the Gavarnie Waterfall. Fantastic location, and price. Good breakfast. Amazing dinners, and Sebastian is an engaging attentive member of the staff.
Featuring a garden, Villa Gavarnie is a detached holiday home set in Gavarnie in the Midi-Pyrénées Region. The holiday home is 3.1 mi from Ossoue Falls and features views of the mountains. This house is charming, comfortable, and you can’t beat the glorious view from almost every room. We were walking distance to town and to some of the trails into the Cirque, so for our first few days we never had to drive anywhere. While we took advantage of the restaurants in town, the house’s kitchen was complete and we easily made dinner and then enjoyed the view of the mountains from the dining room or outdoor patio. The bathroom was spacious and modern and a good size, even though there were four of us sharing it. The laundry facilities were also easy to use. This house was such a nice place to relax in after a day of hiking. It is beautifully decorated—we appreciated the mix of modern and rustic decor. One of the best parts of the experience, though, was the owner. He was available for questions or potential problems and he checked in to make sure we were comfortable more than once.
Located in Gavarnie village just 2.5 mi from Garvarnie Falls, the B&B L'Astazou is set in a 1920s building and offers a terrace with views over the mountains as well as free WiFi access in common... Wonderful friendly helpful hosts! Amazing local food, great view room, and it's a great value. The location is ideal for hiking . We were lucky to spend 4 nights in this lovely family-owned hotel.
Located in Gavarnie in the Midi-Pyrénées region with Gavarnie Falls nearby, BOYRIE Daniel et Hélène has accommodations with free private parking. Very good view in the middle of the mountain. Helen is very nice to us and very helpful! The house is clean and warm.
Our hosts were the warmest welcoming hospitable people of our journey through France! They seemed most willing to understand my meager attempts to speak French - communication was not an issue. (Google Translate is a must if you really don't speak any French or for a quick check of what you want to say). The view from the BnB was amazing! Be aware that there is a steep switchback road to get to their property on the mountainside, but it is stunning one you get there! After staring at the Cirque before you, turn around to take in the mountains surrounding the property. We were greeted by one of their border collies and they have sheep, chickens, bees, another border collie and a cat. The hosts exemplify hospitality. After directing us to some places for dinner, we returned after finding all of them closed (October - post season?) and the hosts graciously prepared a quick dinner for us which was quite welcomed after hiking Pont d'Espagne and up to Lac de Gaube earlier in the day. There was plenty of space in the room to open our luggage and relax for a good night's sleep and the bathroom facilities were modern. It was a lovely country stay!
The Pyrenees are amazing, especially imagining Tour de France riders on the hills and winding roads. The waterfall at Gavarnie is a fabulous hike and view, with the Madiran wine and lunch at the Cirque Hotel the highlight. Pretty good restaurant selection town.
Clean, fresh air at 4500 feet. Wonderful scenery. Walkable town for everything. Many stores and restaurants closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, but enough were open for us to survive. Overall a beautiful, quiet, rustic mountain town. Go out at night and check the stars...brilliant! And, of course, do not miss the walk to Cirque de Gavarnie.
Being right in Gavarnie was awesome (literally!) Being able to hike right from the hotel and walk to everything was great. Two nights was a good amount of time. There are two great hikes (of 2+ hours each) and I'm sure more available. There are horses, sheep, rushing rivers along the path. It was spectacular! (Heads up-we were there June 9-12 and most of the stores and restaurants were closed by 7pm) We really enjoyed our horse ride to the Cirque from the Vignemale Hotel (there's a little buggie there to rent/arrange the rides)
Staying at this property was an unforgettable experience. Not only is it in walking distance to the Cirque de Gavarnie, it is a quaint little cottage that is well-stocked (even had a hair straightener) and with all the mod cons (great wifi/tv/sound system) of any place we have stayed on our 10 week European trip. In the morning, we opened our shutters and windows and listened to the waterfall outside :)
You're staying in Gavarnie with the UNESCO World Heritage Cirque de Gavarnie, need I say more. Hotel is very clean, a little quirky with all the various collectibles. Jazz music is piped around the premises almost constantly which can feel a little irritating but it is not too intrusive. Breakfast is not sumptuous but is fresh and there is plenty to eat to start your day.
Literally unbeatable view of the Cirque de Gavarnie - totally breathtaking. The host was super sweet and patient with our lack of French - she spoke English quite nicely. She also cooked a delicious dinner and gave us advice about day hikes and drives around the area.
Close to Gavarnie town but not walkable. Nice views from the small window as the property is high up, you can see Cirque de Gavarnie from the window. Kettle and tea bags provided which was lovely.
Friendly hosts. Only short drive to Gavarnie. Large property with sitting area and large kitchen
THe hotel is in a brilliant location and the view from our room was superb.
