United KingdomThis little hotel was just perfect! A cool ( they have very efficient aircon) oasis to rest in whilst exploring the beautiful city of Orange, in an incredibly hot few days in August!! It is wonderfully close to the Roman amphitheatre.
The owners are very welcoming and helpful, they managed to keep everything simple and easy....the breakfasts were excellent, eaten out on the lovely little terrace.
It was such a boon to have secure parking, well worth the €8 or €9 we paid.
We would highly reccomend a stay here.

I have been to many cities and towns in Provence and Orange...
I have been to many cities and towns in Provence and Orange is nice, but limited. The big draw was the opera in the roman amphitheater. As a step off point for seeing other things in Provence, it is wonderful. Don't expect tons of gourmet restaurants, but it works.

Orange is a small town with a lot of history.
Orange is a small town with a lot of history. It's small but a great location to get to other places in the area. If you prefer somewhere quiet, with great restaurants instead of the hustle and bustle of a bigger town/city, Orange is definitely the place for you.

I drove down from the Marne valley and this was as far as I wanted to drive in one day! Orange is a delightful little town with Roman theatre the main attraction, but I used it as a base to visit Mont Ventoux (Tom Simpson memorial), Avignon, Arles, Camargue and Pont du Gard - all easily reached by car. Quieter than the main Provence towns but with nice restaurants and cafes so was very happy with it as a base for 3 days. Favourite lunch spot was the Brasserie du Mule du Pape in Chateauneuf du Pape.

Train into Avignon takes only 15 minutes (don’t bother w car!) and a 15-20 minute drive gets you to several of the best wine production towns in France w many tasting options. The city itself is very stylish and relaxed w excellent restaurants. The Roman amphitheatre is still in use w world class performances.

A small compact tourist area which is easily visited in one day. A good centre to operate from to visit Avignon, the Gorges and the vinyards of Chateauneuf du Pape. The Roman theatre is a wonderful place to enjoy a concert... but take a cushion if sitting on the concrete benches... and if necessary waterproofs. The charge for entry to the theatre and museum is excessive as there is very litle to see other than the wall of the stage.

Parking was quite difficult in Orange and you need to pay in the centre. The surrounding areas are absolutely stunning and well worth visiting especially the Gorge de la Nesque, Gorge du Verdun and of course the drive up to Mount Ventoux. The wine region is one of our favourites and there are many fantastic villages to see such as Gordes, Rousillon and L'isle sur la Sorgue (arrive early to find good parking)

What a little charming gem ! We absolutely loved our stay at this lovely hotel . Nice owners , great courtyard for parking and big family room with comfortable beds , with aircon and spotless bathroom . 40c outside but we kept cool and comfortable . And really nice breakfast . We shall definitely come back on our next drive to south of France from UK.

I liked that the hotel was not too far away from the city center. Thus we coukld walk to the Roman theater from there within 15-20 mn. It was also nice to have an "épicerie de nuit" not too far from the hotel, where we could buy water before going to bed. It was also convenient to be able to park at the hotel yard.

Decent hotel with friendly staff and good breakfast which is continental. Good on site parking. Swimming pool and small gym which is well maintained. Room 108 was tired and in need of some improvements, however, ok for a night or two.
