A pleasant little town.

A pleasant little town. Night market on Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings, restaurants concentrated in the town center. Two small supermarkets and a gas station. Ideally located for visiting the Verdon Gorge and enjoying Lake Sainte-Croix. The nearby village of Moustiers-Sainte-Marie is well worth a visit.

Riez is ideally located near the Valensole plateau, close to the Espadon and Sainte-Croix lakes, and near the Verdon and Durance rivers. It's also a great base for exploring the Verdon Gorge, lavender and olive groves, and discovering the Luberon region.

A very pretty village, lively yet peaceful.

A very pretty village, lively yet peaceful. Restaurants, a supermarket, two large markets per week in the summer plus a night market. Ideally located for visiting the Verdon Gorge. Large free car park in the village centre with always available spaces. Tourist office with very friendly staff.

Riez is a lively and pleasant town with restaurants that serve quite late, unlike Moustiers where we couldn't find a restaurant for dinner on July 15th. They were either full, closed, or open but with their kitchens closing at 9 pm.

Visited during the lavender bloom season.

Visited during the lavender bloom season. A small, charming village with a good selection of bars and restaurants. Its location is excellent for reaching both the Verdon Gorge and Valensole (where prices are much higher). Ample parking is available, but beware of the various street markets that take place in public parking lots.

Aurelien and Carina were unbelievably nice and sympathetic. Carina cooked us an outstandingly delicious 3 course dinner on two consecutive nights. She is German which was helping a lot as our french has become rather non existent over the years. They both having the right spirit to run this unique hotel. We went on with our vacation after 2 days but instantly missed them. Such a great experience provençal . Thank you again so much for your hospitality. We're hoping to come back one of these days 😊😘

Loved staying in this unique log cabin - very comfortable bedroom with a separate bathroom and toilet. Everything you need for a break away. Set in beautiful countryside on the edge of Riez - Bastide De Mazan is a large property in its own grounds, renovated to an extremely high standard. Very friendly and accommodating host. Central location for visiting the Gorges of Verdun and surrounding villages.

A comfortable overnight stay. The hotel appears to have had a recent refurbishment and the interior was immaculate. There was a sense that we arrived out of season - the hotel was practically empty. We arrived in time but reception closed at 7pm and there would have been no access after that. Very nice buffet breakfast (at an extra charge).

The apartment is newly renovated and clean. The air conditioners work really well and are quiet - we slept well despite it being very hot while we were there. The shower worked well and the water was hot. Riez is a very nice village, we actually liked it more than Valensole. The market on Saturday was also wonderful.
