We loved our accommodation in Maison d’Adelaide in the still very medieval citadel area of St Flour, it was close to the Cathedral where we marvelled at an amazing exhibition and could also park our car for free in the square. There are plenty of good eating places close by and our pizzas were amazing. We were guided to a very interesting brocante down in the lower (modern) part of St Flour, and saw that you could discover more around that area had we the time.
Take a few days. We were dashing down to Spain and didn’t do the town justice. There are lovely buildings, narrow streets to explore and excellent views. It can all be done on foot - but it is a steep looking walk down to the lower part of town. We didn’t even visit this lower part with its very attractive river and bridges. We had drinks in the local bars but bought food in a friendly supermarket as we didn’t find anything for vegetarians.
Easy to get around and visit its historic buildings. St Flour is well located for exploring surrounding countryside .Travelled here in winter and had no difficulty finding places to eat. Great services in and around the town.
We stayed overnight in the lower town but walked up in the morning to the old town. It was really pretty and quaint with some lovely boutique-type shops. I wish we had stayed up in the old town as it was far more interesting and had more facilities. The walk up was very steep though and wouldn't suit anyone with mobility problems. Eating in the lower town was a problem and generally the restaurants seemed overpriced, especially the wine! Unfortunately the restaurant we most liked the look of was shut on Wednesday nights. In the end and out of necessity we bought a pizza but had to take it back to our hotel room to eat as the pizzeria was tiny and 6 diners had filled it to capacity! The Pizza however was delicious and freshly made to order on the premises.
Fantastic location with panoramic views of the old town perched on the hill. A short walk into the main square where there were bars and restaurants. We walked up into the old town of St Flour which was very picturesque. The hotel offered a breakfast that was very reasonably priced, and had a terrace next to the breakfast area.

Absolutely gorgeous bed and breakfast. Owner is friendly and helpful. We could not have a better checking in experience. Room is large and the bathroom even bigger!! Breakfast is rich with local products. Location is great, many stores and restaurants nearby.

A lovely warm, clean, spacious house with excellent facilities, including a new kitchen. Easy access to main roads and to Saint-Flour. Everything we needed and more, loved our stay there.
I loved the size of the room and more importantly the layout of the hotel. The building is flat and each room has its own door to the outside -very American layout. Loved it.
Very friendly traditional French hotel. Staff were very attentive. The location was superb making St Flour very easy to explore in foot.
Position of hotel, once found, was good. Easy walking distance to town amenities. Good car-parking (pre-booked).
