Hotel in Versailles
Set in the centre of Versailles, Hôtel Le Versailles is a 1-minute walk from the Palace of Versailles. It offers air-conditioned rooms with flat-screen TV and free WiFi access. If you are going to the Palace of Versailles or just wanting a nice place to stay out of Paris Central - this is the place. Literally 2 minutes stroll to the Palace entry gates. The whole area of the Hotel is very quiet. The rooms (Superior) were just amazing in setup, artwork and size. The king size bed looked small in the room. Again it was so quiet and peaceful. We had breakfasts in the hotel and there was plenty of it and fresh. Another 2 minutes away are a number of Cafes/Restaurants that are open to late for dinner ( we had one dinner sitting at 10pm - twilight ). Back to the hotel - the staff were wonderful and helpful and knowledgeable. We would stay there again and commute to Paris for tourist stuff. Great value for money. Highly recommended.

Located in Versailles City Centre, 1 km from Château de Versailles and 12 km from Montigny-le-Bretonneux, Hotel des Lys features a bar and free WiFi access. Staff were gracious and welcoming. Chengyu was a terrific concierge. He was able to juggle resupplying the delicious breakfast buffet while checking on taxis rates and giving travel suggestions with a smile. In fluent English. He contributed greatly to making our stay very pleasant. Unlike many other hotels in France, this one staffs the front desk until after midnight. The location was a ten minute walk from Chateaux Versailles. We would not hesitate to stay here on our next visit due to the pleasant staff alone. We recommend the breakfast. The breakfast had fresh fruit, eggs to boil, croissants, cold cuts, cereals, breads, and a pastry selection. Water, tea, coffee, hot cocoa, juice were the beverage selections. Limited free parking is available.

Logis La Residence Du Berry is situated in the heart of the Saint Louis district, close to the world famous Chateau de Versailles and its gardens. First, Stephanie, the receptionist, was superb. She sent me up with a cup of tea after I got caught in a downpour and she gave me the timing I needed to easily get into the Palace of Versaille the next morning. She is a charming and knowledgeable lady. Secondy, both the location, quality and price could hardly be beat for being so very close to the Palace.

The Palace of Versailles and the Gardens are excellent value for anyone interested in French history. The queues are long so get there early. Buy a ticket before hand (Get your guide, for example) I definitely recommend it for visitors to Paris.
The Chateau is magical and even on a cold December day was absolutely delightful. The town is well worth exploring and the choice of restaurants makes it difficult to choose. We would heartily recommend Versailles for a break or a stop over on the way further south.
The chateau and its gardens are a wold only. so what is left to say. But the saturday afternoon walk of about 3,000 people in the park was disturbed by relentless and loud firing of clay pigeon (ball trap in french) shouting. We found that totally inappropriate.
Versailles was an interesting place to walk round, plenty of shops, restaurants and a great market. We did a lot of walking. The palace was lovely, although the gardens were very drab in winter. The stables were amazing and we enjoyed watching the girls of the equestrian academy training Infront of the grand stables.
More to see than the Palace! On our third visit to Versailles and this time we stayed an extra day, we still did not see everything we wanted to. We wanted to attend the fantastic Saturday food markets, and visit the antiquities shops and the various L'Hotel particulars dotted around the city. We will return again next year!
We had an appointment to Angelina (tea salon) and although it was recommended by the hostess at the entrance of the Castle, this one had been replaced by another one with a different name... They should know better about their own facilities.... what a disgrace... We spent 2 hours looking for this café next to the gardens which are huge !! What a waste ot time !!!
