Located in Aberdour, a 5-minute walk from the beach, The Woodside Hotel offers rooms with free parking, WiFi access in the lounge, and easy access to the countryside. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. The restaurant food was excellent quality. The village of Aberdour was a hidden gem
Located in Aberdour in the Fife Region, this holiday home is 1312 feet from Aberdour Castle. The kitchen is equipped with an oven and a microwave, as well as a kettle. Everything was terrific! Great location. You could walk to the beach, breakfast, lunch & dinner (we did all 3!), golf course, Aberdour Castle, & train station. We loved coming back at night & sitting with a glass of wine in front of the fire.
Bankhead Farm Cottage, a property with a garden, is located in Aberdour, 2 miles from Aberdour Castle. The vacation home comes with a TV and 4 bedrooms. Wonderful house, very clean and perfect view! Providing views of the Firth of Forth, The Bay and Bridge in Dalgety Bay features accommodations, a garden and a terrace. Situated in a quiet neighborhood affording a breathtaking view of the Firth of Forth, this is a new property with everything modern and up-to-date. Our room and bath were spacious and comfortable. We found it convenient to visiting St. Andrews, Stirling, Glamis, and other area attractions, as well as to Edinburgh airport. An ample continental breakfast is included, with a delicious hot breakfast available at reasonable cost. Hosts are welcoming and accommodating, and responded quickly to questions before our arrival.
Another time, the new management will hopefully deal with the problems. I do not want to malign them as they were genuine people with a serious problem. However, they did not listen properly, and so, when they fixed the boiler for the following evening, they badly advised the poor soul, Graham, who tried everything to help, we still had no washing/ showering facilities. We left, declined to pay for the accommodation and stayed at the Dakota, which was more expensive, but brilliant.
The Aberdour Hotel was a small, friendly hotel with easy train access to Edinburgh. The restaurant/bar was cozy, we had fun conversations with guests and people who lived in the small town. The staff was engaging, fun and very helpful. Scott, the owner was so friendly and fun to talk with! We enjoyed staying there and the beds were extremely comfortable. Visiting from the U.S., we felt this hotel gave us a taste of Scotland and its friendly people! Hats off to the Aberdour!
Try the Room With A View fish restaurant once you've eaten your fill in the superb Aberdour Hotel where the food blew us away. Go to The Ship in Elie. Go to St. Andrews too. The coastline is beautiful and well worth the trip.

Only three minutes walk from Aberdour (pronounced aber - dour) train station to hotel; and only 20 minutes by train to downtown Edinburgh. Very small homey village with hiking trails, beach, views of Edinburgh across Firth of Forth, and castle all nearby. Don't miss last train back from Edinburgh at 11pm.
