Breakfast was excellent, as were the staff assisting each morning. The lounge (with fireplace) was a wonderful place to wind down each day.

The room was warm and felt luxurious with a very comfortable bed. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the restaurant, where we ate dinner and breakfast, was excellent. We could even play Scrabble in the lounge area after dinner.

All staff we met were brilliant, very friendly and helpful. We ate dinner in the hotel, good ambience in the dining area, dutiful staff and good meals. Room was warm and cosy, bed comfortable, we slept well

The place was cozy and very easy to check in to. Had nice touches in the room and was in a great location!

The location is perfect and pretty. The food in the pub was amazing, traditional delicacies made to perfection. We had an ale n steak pie. Breakfast was made to order and very good. Room had an amazing old world charm and yet modern comfort.

The property was very charming and well located. The rooms are very nice and well appointed, and the room and bathroom were spotless. We were a little disappointed in the view from our room initially (all first floor rooms look out over the roof, but some rooms (40/41) are much better than others (44)), but the staff were incredibly nice and even showed us other rooms to pick from! The breakfast was amazing, and great vegetarian options as well. Would definitely stay here again. Secure, free parking at the back of the hotel is a bonus! Just drive down the backstreet until you see a sign posted for the hotel (it’s farther than you think).

especially loved that it is located in a historic building and that the room has such a unique, timeless atmosphere. It almost feels like staying in a museum. The location is perfect, very close to the train station and bus stops. The room had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I absolutely loved my experience here and will definitely come back to this hotel again.
