FAQs about hotels in Bristol

From Brunel to Banksy!

Britain’s 4th most popular visitor destination, Bristol boasts Brunel’s magnificent Clifton Suspension Bridge spanning the River Avon. More Brunel handiwork is in the harbour where his SS Great Britain steamship is moored. Pirate walks here detail the city’s underground naval history.

Further north in Clifton is the world’s oldest zoo outside a capital city. Other Bristol attractions include At-Bristol Museum and the Grade I-listed Corn Exchange with its 4 "nails" outside where money changed hands. Also worth a visit is St Nicholas Market, in a Georgian square home to several bars and a Slow Food Market on the 1st Sunday of every month. Other Bristol shopping options include shopping centres at Cabot Circus, and Cribbs Causeway on the outskirts.

As a student city, Bristol really comes to life after dark. The live music scene here is fantastic and has given way to several internationally known bands, but for something more alternative head to Eastside.

Another option for alternative-seekers is the work of hometown street artists Banksy. Just like Booking.com’s Bristol accommodation, his work is spread throughout this fabulous city.

This Gateway to the West Country is served by Bristol Airport and Temple Meads train station. The old Bristol to Bath railway line is now a cycle route and makes a great day trip.

Bristol has everything for entertainment, eating, tourism...

Bristol has everything for entertainment, eating, tourism and residents. Shame about the emission charge . I am not coming again just because of that charge. The bus lanes are confusing for strangers coming up too quickly to change lanes without an accident. Traffic jams galore. Drug deals in full view, addicts asking for money. A UK Government and Police problem not just Bristol. Bus service unbelievably good, other towns take note and follow Bristol example. Parks good. M32 very convenient. Trains go everywhere easy links good stations to link up. Litter bins everywhere which is good considering towns in Wales are reducing their's to save money. What is that about ? Shops everywhere you can buy paint or sit down for a meal at 3am Every major brand and every Nationality provided.

Bristol is one of our favourite cities in England.

Bristol is one of our favourite cities in England. It is very diverse culturally and superb offerings food-wise. There is a very artistic vibe with street art and murals very evident all over the city. Great museums, galleries and vibrant riverside activity with bars, restaurants etc. Very good for walkers for either low level walking along the river or steep hills overlooking the city. A very photogenic city.

Excellent location in the city centre, close to local amenities, super passionate staff, and clean facilities. The room my partner and I stayed in boasted a comfortable double bed with clothes storage in a large room, shower rooms were clean and accessible. Free luggage hold between check-out and our bus to the airport, and a lovely social room downstairs with free tea & coffee! Easily the best place we’ve stayed in when visiting Bristol, would not hesitate to return.

The staff were very friendly, the hotel is very clean and they provided a good breakfast. The location seems far away at first. However, the bus stop is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. You can get a 70 or 74 bus which takes you to the city centre. Overall, I enjoyed my stay as I had a good nights sleep on both nights. I will probably book this hotel again for my next visit to Bristol.

The location was ideal for where we planned on visiting before our stay and it was less than a mile walk to the centre of Bristol. Upon arriving the receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly, showing us on a map how to get into the city centre as it was our first time in Bristol. If we ever return to Bristol this hotel will be our first choice.
